Chapter 391
The cave wasn’t very large, and Nina was lying on a rather cramped little bed with her cubs.
Nina lay on her side in the middle, surrounded by the cubs sleeping in every which way—some curled up by her stomach, others tucked by her hands… The cave was peaceful and quiet. Only Nina and the cubs were inside; the males had all headed out, afraid of disturbing their sleep.
Setan stepped softly into the cave and crouched by the small bed, watching Nina sleep.
He glanced at Sunny, who was sleeping right next to Nina’s cheek.

Then he looked at Linny, nestled in the crook of her neck, and Didi, curled up by her stomach—those two spots weren’t bad either. Finally, his gaze landed on Mimi, who was leaning against Nina’s chest. Now that one is the best.
After a moment of thought, his eyes drifted back to Sunny.
Gently lifting Sunny by the scruff of his neck, Setan scanned the bed, only to find there wasn’t any proper space left. Looking down, he carefully placed Sunny onto the rug underneath the bed.
Then, transforming into a small lion himself, he curled up right where Sunny had been, staring infatuatedly at Nina’s sleeping face.
After a long while, Nina’s eyelashes fluttered.
Seeing that she was about to wake up, Setan instinctively closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. Nina opened her eyes, dazed, and saw an adorable little lion curled up right in front of her. Out of habit, she reached out to pet him, then planted a soft kiss on his forehead.
Setan froze, his cheeks burning hot.
Nina… Nina just kissed him p>
The tips of his ears flushed a deep red, and he was too shy to even open his eyes. The little brat really knew what he was doing when he picked this spot.
Meanwhile, Sunny woke up sleepily and immediately began looking for Nina. He glanced left and right.
Huh? Where’s Mama?
As his mind cleared, he realized he was actually under the bed. He was utterly confused. How did I end up down here? Did I roll off the bed in my sleep?
He looked up toward the bed and spotted another little lion that looked exactly like him.
Sparks of fury lit up his eyes. He took two steps back, and with a sharp “Awoo!”, he lunged straight at the other lion.
He knew he was a good sleeper; there was no way he would just fall off the bed. It had to be this rotten, deadbeat dad who threw him down here! You rotten scumbag, this little lion is going to bite you to pieces!
Hearing a sudden, babyish lion roar right beside her ear, Nina found it a bit strange.
Did I just hear Sunny’s voice?
She sat up and looked toward the sound, only to see a little lion pouncing up from under the bed. Then she looked down at the little lion right under her hand. If that one is Sunny, then this one is p>

Sensing a wave of murderous intent from behind, Setan snapped his eyes open and instantly dove into Nina’s arms. Seeing Setan hide in her embrace, Sunny didn’t dare lunge any further. Instead, he bared his teeth furiously at Setan: Bad lion, get out of my Mama’s arms right now!
The commotion instantly woke the other cubs. They looked at Sunny in surprise.

Sunny pouted, tears still shimmering in his eyes. Exactly! He’s a bad lion, we don’t want him anymore. He shot Setan a sneaky, triumphant glare. You rotten dad, I’m going to make Mama dump you.
Amused, Nina stroked Sunny gently. “Alright, we don’t want him anymore. Don’t be mad, okay? Mama will hold you while you sleep tonight, how about that p>
Sunny instantly beamed with joy. Yay!
Then, he happily nuzzled against Nina.
The other cubs chimed in and gathered around, thinking brother Sunny’s tears definitely paid off.
Setan immediately stood up, padded over to Nina’s side, and looked up at her. “Nina, I didn’t do it on purpose. Please don’t be mad p>
Sunny shot him another glare: You totally did it on purpose! He nuzzled Nina again. Mama, don’t let the bad lion stay here.
Nina looked at Setan. “Go outside for a bit p>
Setan carefully tugged at the corner of her clothes. “Nina, don’t be mad at me. I won’t do it again p>
Nina wouldn’t really be mad at him, right?
Nina gave a helpless smile and patted his head. “Go on out first p>
Setan nodded, hopped off the bed, and reluctantly walked out, looking back at her with every step.
With his revenge sweet and complete, Sunny happily snuggled into Nina’s embrace. Nina shook her head, scooping up the cubs. “Now that you’re all awake, let’s go outside and play p>
The cubs were suddenly bursting with energy, shouting back in unison, “Yay p>
Nina spent the rest of the afternoon playing with them in the nearby woods.
That evening, the beast-husbands took the cubs out for a bath.
Setan cautiously approached Nina. “Nina, were you really mad at me today p>
Nina took his hand. “I wasn’t mad. But don’t do that again, otherwise I won’t cover for you next time Sunny gets mad at you p>
Setan didn’t care about that at all. “As long as you’re not mad.” He wrapped an arm around her waist. “Nina, I found a little something interesting just now. Want to go take a look p>
“What is it?” Nina asked curiously.
“You’ll see when we get there,” Setan said mysteriously. His main goal was just to get some alone time with her.
Nina nodded, and Setan scooped her right up, striding quickly into the woods. He carried her until they reached a specific thicket, carefully set her down, and covered her eyes. “Nina, don’t open your eyes just yet p>
He guided her forward a few steps before letting go. “Alright, Nina. You can look now p>
Nina opened her eyes, and a glowing, magical canvas unfolded before her.
The pitch-black woods were sprinkled with shimmering luminescence as countless fireflies darted and danced through the dense branches and leaves. They drifted across the night sky, transforming the dark forest into a soft, hazy sea of stars.
Delight sparked in Nina’s eyes. “There are actually fireflies here! It’s beautiful p>
Setan hugged her from behind. “There are even more up in the trees. Want to go up and look p>
“Mhm,” Nina agreed.
Setan carried her and leaped up into the branches. The fireflies were indeed thicker up here, and they didn’t seem shy at all, boldly fluttering right around her. Nina held out her hand, and a firefly landed gently on her palm. Watching the little lantern blinking on its backside, she found it incredibly charming. After resting for a moment, the firefly buzzed away.
Nina leaned back into Setan’s chest, quietly taking in the beautiful starry sea of the forest.
As she watched, she felt a warm breath near her ear. Setan softly murmured, “Nina p>
Nina turned her head, meeting his burning gaze. Setan cupped her face and slowly leaned in p>
Their lips met in a tender, lingering caress. As their breaths mingled, a wave of passion washed over them.
After what felt like forever, Nina finally pushed him away. “Alright, we need to go back and tuck the cubs into bed p>
Setan gently traced her slightly swollen, reddened lips, his eyes deep and intense. “Let them wait a little longer.” Before the words could fully leave his mouth, another passionate kiss took over p>
The cubs lay on the small bed and waited for a very, very long time before Nina finally returned.
They collectively glared at Setan. Ignoring them completely, Setan set Nina down in a thoroughly joyful mood. Nina blushed, doing her best to soothe the cubs to sleep.
