Chapter 7
“No blushing or scolding?” Chayton asked. When I was still silent, he got angry. “Well, this makes things
easier for us.”
“Easier for you?” I asked, finally speaking.
Chayton smirked at me, but it was an evil smirk. A tingle shot through me that I wasn’t expecting. A feeling
that I haven’t felt in years. One I certainly can’t trust based on past experiences.
Neither of them answered me though. They just stared at me while I looked between the two of them. My
heart was racing so loudly I thought for sure that they could hear it.
Suddenly, one of their phones dinged loudly in the room. Chayton pulled his from his pocket and looked at
the screen. He smirked again, moving his eyes back to me.
“Dev’s out front with the car,” he said.
Dev? Car? Out front?
Kylian kept his eyes on me. His stare was intense, but blank. He was just as emotionless as I remembered. Only, there was warmth there for me at one point. I’m not sure if that was all a lie or if it had just faded. I
have no idea what was ever real or fake.
“Get the rest of your shi.t,” he finally said, ordering me. “We’re leaving.”
L–leaving? Why? No! For what reason?
Did my dad tell them more lies? Are they going to take me back to him? No… they can’t do that. They can’t.
Panic and fear started to bubble up in me and bubble up fast. I took a step back as I started to shake my head. My eyes fell to the floor and my ears started to ring.
“N–no…” I muttered shakily. “N–no… N–n–no.. No! N-”
I was suddenly cut off. Not because anybody did anything, but because it felt like someone had wrapped their hand around my throat. I knew what that felt like, and it had memories slamming through me faster than I could handle. Tears finally started to fall from my eyes as I clawed at my throat, trying to breathe.

I can’t go. I can’t. I can’t let them take me back. I can’t. I won’t survive if I go
Suddenly, large hands were clutching my shoulders. My panic rose and I reacted out of reflex. I pushed the
hands away frantically as I backed up. My back hit the wall and I swatted the hands away again, but they
were persistent. When that happens, I always react one of two ways. A swift knee to the gut, or a slap
across the face. Both have gotten me in a lot of trouble, but slapping was the lesser of the two, so I usually went with that.
Which was what I did just now.
The slap echoed through the room and for just a moment, everything froze. One of the hands lifted from

my shoulder and I prepared for the blowback. But it never came. My eyes were squeezed shut, and I was too afraid to open them.
That is, until a hand gently brushed some stray hairs out of my face. Then my eyes slowly opened to find a familiar pair of green ones. There was a red mark on Kylian’s cheek. I knew I had slapped him. I hadn’t meant to, but when has that ever mattered before?
I have no idea how Kylian is going to act. He looks pi.ssed. Is he going to hit me back?
“Are you calm now?” He finally spoke.
I had no idea how to answer. I wasn’t sure myself. I wasn’t freaking out anymore, but I didn’t necessarily feel calm. I felt like I was going to throw up and pass out.
“You are coming with us Blythe,” Kylian finally said. “Whether you like it or not.”
Hopelessness settled in quickly.
“P–please… don’t make me go back,” I whispered, begging him.
Kylian stared down at me for a moment.
“I’m taking you home, Blythe,” he said firmly. “You can at least talk to your mother.”
I scoffed as more tears filled my eyes.
My mother? For what? So she can tell me what an embarrassment I am? Toss me aside again? Send me
back to that… monster that helped create me?
I shook my head, wanting to argue, but I knew it was no use. Chayton and Kylian are here. They won’t leave without me. They’re taking me no matter what. I don’t understand why, but it’s happening.
But nobody said I had to make it easy for them.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” I stated, narrowing my eyes at him. “You’ll have to drag me out kicking
and screaming.”
Kylian leaned away from me and shrugged.
“Done,” he replied before bending down and throwing me over his shoulder.
I squealed embarrassingly and immediately started thrashing around. Kylian hiked me up, getting a better
grip on me. I kicked my feet and pounded on his insanely firm back. When I almost fell off him, I earned a
hard smack to my a.ss.
“Behave before I drop you,” he growled.
“Hello! That’s what I want!” I shouted as I continued to kick and thrash. I earned another smack to my a.ss, this one much harder. I still didn’t stop. I didn’t care how much Kylian did it or how much I liked it. “You think that intimidates me!?” I spat.
As if. I’ve been spanked harder. Hell, I was whipped with the hard end of a belt until I bled and then

paddled right after. This is child’s play.
“Fine, thrash around,” Kylian said. “Fu.ckin‘ hell. Fu.ckin‘ wildcat.”
“Let me go!” I shouted when Kylian walked to the door.
He ignored me and opened up the door with Chayton right behind us, my duffle bag in his hand.
“Wait!” I shouted right before Kylian walked out. Thankfully, they listened. “My cat…”
“Oh hell no,” Chayton instantly said. “We are not taking a fu.cking cat.”
“I can’t leave him here! I’m all he knows! Please! He’s my best friend!” I shouted, sounding way too much like the little girl they used to know.
“It’s a fu.cking cat,” Chayton stated, like I was insane.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
“If we don’t take Butter… I will never forgive you,” I spat venomously.
Chayton raised a brow at me as if my threat meant nothing to him. It probably didn’t, but it just slipped out.
I was desperate. There was no way that Sean or Daniel would let me keep a cat, but maybe I could get
someone else to take him. I can’t just abandon him.
“Psycho, get the fu.cking cat and meet me in the car,” Kylian said before walking out of my apartment.
I stopped fighting. I was too stunned to do anything but lay there limply. Because that name was directed at Chayton. Chayton’s road name really turned out to be Psycho. I’d been right. It made me feel like maybe I really did used to know them.
But I knew that wasn’t true.
