Lylah fell asleep first. The exhaustion claimed her completely, her body surrendering the moment everything was over. She lay curled against the sheets, breathing soft and even.
Ezra didn’t sleep.
Not right after that, when night fell, not even when dawn crept in again. He remained beside her, watching.

“Good morning.” His voice was low when Lylah finally stirred.

She froze mid-step.
A faint wince crossed her face as a dull ache pulsed through her lower part.
Ezra moved to her side in an instant, his touch careful now. “Let me,” he murmured, lifting her effortlessly and helping her prepare.
Lylah slipped out of the penthouse as soon as she was ready-much sooner than Ezra would have preferred.
By the time she reached Lunar Grace Academy, she had composed herself-but not without effort.
A high turtleneck concealed the marks scattered along her skin, though the faint scent of him still clung to her, impossible to fully hide.
