“The male who will claim her tonight is Rowan Blackfang. A wolf whose name already carries weight in Lunaris.” His arms folded across his chest. “If I wished it, I could have this entire place reduced to ash before the moon reaches its peak p>
Behind him, his guards stood like shadows given form.
“Now choose,” Eldric said. “Obey, or challenge me p>
The choice wasn’t one at all.
Though many present were wolves themselves, no one stepped forward.
Reluctantly, the servant lowered his head.

Victor Ross listened in silence as the report was delivered.
By the time the servant finished, something cold and faintly disappointed had settled behind his gaze.
“Is Cora present?” Victor asked at last.
“No, sir. Lady Cora has yet to arrive,” the servant replied. Then, after a brief hesitation, he added, “But… even if she were, I doubt she would object. Alpha Eldric acts in her interest p>
Victor didn’t respond immediately.
For a moment, he simply stood there, the quiet stretching thin. “I see p>
But there was no agreement in his voice-only cold disappointment. The greed of the Ironcrest family had poisoned the air itself, its bitterness clinging like a stain.
