“There’s nothing between her and me,” Damon said, his voice steady despite the tension coiling tight beneath his skin, his wolf bristling at the implication. “She’s involved with a friend of mine. He’s away from Lunaris and asked me to keep an eye on her. That’s all.” His jaw flexed slightly. “She just has a habit of making things difficult p>
Even as he spoke, disbelief lingered.
‘Of all wolves i could have crossed paths with, why her?’ Damon thought.
The last time he had seen Tiara was in Blackfang, when he had gone under Ezra’s orders to pick up Lylah. Instead, the furious redhead had confronted him, accusing him and Ezra of tearing her away from her
best friend.
And now that same little fire stood here, in Lunaris, having just dragged him out of a scandal.

At that exact moment, Tiara’s phone buzzed, the sharp vibration slicing through the tension.
