Liora and Celine were equally curious about this.
“That would be Vanessa Voss. She’s the heiress of the Voss family here in Aethelgard,” Mira explained.
“No wonder. Does she pay that girl a salary?” Liora asked.
“I have no idea, but there are definitely perks involved,” Mira replied.
“Is that other girl, Jillian, your dog?” Sienna asked bluntly.
“No,” Mira said, shaking her head.
“She’s my subordinate, at most. I never enslave my classmates. She works for me voluntarily, and I never treat her poorly p>
Celine nodded. “We know exactly what kind of person Mira is p>
Stepping out of the dorm building, Mira turned to them. “We’ll skip the dining hall since we’ll see it when we eat later. So, what’s our next stop? The library, Sylvan Lake, or Abbott Tower p>
“Let’s just take a quick glance at those places. We shouldn’t delay hitting up the societies,” Liora suggested.
“Let’s grab some bikes. Walking takes way too long,” Liora said, pointing to a row of bicycles nearby.
“Your school has bikes too? Mine has them as well,” Celine noted.
“Mira, you’re amazing for making things so convenient for everyone,” Liora added.
“It’s all about making life easier for others, which in turn makes it easier for me,” Mira said with a smile.
“I seriously regret not going into business with you back then,” Celine sighed as she pedaled.
After everything they had been through, Celine and the others were no longer the naive high schoolers they used to be; they had matured and grown worldly.
Looking back, the gap between them and Mira had widened into an unbridgeable chasm.
They remembered having this business prodigy right by their side, someone who had personally asked if they wanted to partner up. They had let a golden opportunity slip right through their fingers.
It was understandable for Liora,
whose family was in politics, but Celine’s family was rooted in business. Her parents had even asked her recently why she hadn’t bought shares in Mira’s company. After all, Mira’s current net worth was already several times that of the entire Ward family.
“Exactly. Even if… even if we had just bought a single share back then, we’d be set for life,” Liora agreed.
A single share of Solflare Entertainment was now worth billions of dollars.
“When I asked, you were all worried it would distract from your studies,” Mira pointed out. Some things simply had to be said, and as for company shares, that ship had sailed for good.
If they ever faced financial hardships in life, Mira would undoubtedly help them out. But business was business, and she could never be careless when it came to corporate matters.
“So we missed out on the business, and our grades still aren’t as good as yours,” Celine muttered.
“It’s fine. We’re only eighteen. The future holds infinite possibilities,” Mira comforted.
“Harvey Rivers was the smart one. He stuck to Mira like glue, and now he’s a huge boss, too,” Liora observed.
“Harvey only got shares in my company because we used his family’s property, Rivers Plaza,” Mira corrected.
To run a business, she needed a home base, which was why she had been forced to acquire the Rivers family’s office building. The Rivers family’s sole condition for the sale was exchanging the real estate for equity; otherwise, there was no deal.
At the time, Mira’s business was still in its infancy. She had just launched the bike sharing program and was desperately burning through cash. It was a testament to the incredible foresight of the Rivers men.
Since then, Harvey had closely followed Mira’s lead, learning from her while doing everything in his power to support her, both on campus and in the boardroom.
That was exactly why Mira was more than happy to have Harvey as both a friend and a business partner.
