Winona shot him a flat look. “Don’t you usually avoid staying at the main house p>
Keaton lied through his teeth without missing a beat, claiming the plumbing was wrecked at Riverside Manor, the wiring was blown at Regent Hills, the oceanfront villa had no hot water, and the heating was broken at the lake house. In short, every single one of his properties was entirely unlivable, leaving him no choice but to move back home.
Winona knew exactly what game he was playing, but she held her tongue in front of Janelle and Richard.
Thankfully, Janelle was fiercely protective of her. “Then you can go stay in a hotel,” she told her son bluntly.
Keaton stared at his mother in utter disbelief. “Mom, did you forget? I’m the father of your future grandson p>
“Which makes you entirely secondary to the mother of my future grandson,” Janelle retorted.
Suitably silenced, Keaton sulked while Winona lowered her head to hide a soft smile.
Suddenly, a prickle of unease washed over her, as if she were being watched. She glanced up, scanning the room.
Instead of catching whoever was staring at her, her gaze landed on a young man deep in conversation nearby.
He looked to be in his early thirties, undeniably handsome and charming, laughing effortlessly with the people around him.
Catching Winona’s gaze, he turned slightly and offered a polite, acknowledging raise of his champagne flute.
He seamlessly resumed his conversation right after, seemingly paying her no further mind.
Yet, just that single glance made Winona’s heart skip a painful beat. A suffocating wave of dread washed over her, chilling her to the bone.

Janelle followed her gaze. “That’s Jae-hyun Kim, the Koryon owner of First Love Bakery. He’s quite the heartthrob among the younger crowd these days. You’ve probably seen him trending online p>
“Mrs. Murphy’s niece invited him p>
“Apparently, she’s quite smitten with him, so Mrs. Murphy asked me for an extra invitation on the sly p>
Winona frowned subtly at the information. She cast one last lingering look his way before dropping the subject.
The party was in full swing. With Janelle needing to play hostess to the other socialites, Winona slipped away to find Elysia and Blossom.

Winona smiled softly.
“Richard and Janelle have been so wonderful to me. As for Keaton.. we’ll just have to take it one day at a time. If he wants to pursue me, I’ll give him a chance. Whether it works out or not is up to fate p>
She let out a long, shuddering sigh of relief.
“Getting the truth about the baby out in the open feels like a massive weight has
been lifted off my chest. Keeping secrets is exhausting p>
Elysia smiled gently.
“Are you hungry? Grab a pastry. They’re from First Love Bakery, and they’re to die for p>
Winona paused, her hand hovering. “First Love p>
Elysia nodded.
“Every socialite in Jindale City is obsessed with their desserts right now. Janelle specially ordered a batch for today p>
“Don’t worry, the ingredients are completely organic and safe for your pregnancy.” Winona frowned, the image of Jae-hyun Kim flashing uncomfortably in her mind.
