Even saying this makes me feel a bit cheeky, but I’m far from being a blushing bride anymore.

“Today, Kate told me you snapped her necklace. This is a new one. Give it to her tomorrow as an apology,” Claude said, pushing a jewelry box toward me. I didn’t immediately take it.
