After stepping over the unconscious intruder, Max’s bodyguard dragged the guy away without a word. I couldn’t help but let out a derisive laugh, which seemed to irk him, for the next second, I found myself lifted off the ground in his arms.

“And how was I before?” His question made me pause. Truth be told, I didn’t really know him before my rebirth.
