Chapter 1032
Julius had never bothered to argue with women before. But Linnea—she managed to get under his skin every single time. He was about ready to blow his top.
Watching the two of them squabble, Calliope couldn’t help but find it a little childish —and a little entertaining, too.
“Alright, that’s enough, both of you,” she said, laughing. “One of you’s my brother, the other’s my friend, and the two of you happen to be the leads of this show. If somebody snaps a photo of the stars bickering, it’ll be a PR nightmare p>
“Callie’s absolutely right,” Linnea chimed in, turning to Julius. “Julius, can’t you try and be the grown-up here? All this fighting isn’t doing us any favors. I wouldn’t mind if it just affected me, but we can’t let it cast a shadow over Callie’s show. Her work is always first-class-we’re not about to mess that up p>
Julius stared at her, dumbfounded. Was she seriously lecturing him right now? Like this was all his fault? If she hadn’t barged in and disrupted his time with Callie, would he be this irritated?
He glared at her, fuming. Linnea just cocked her head at him and said, “Julius, you’re the guy here-can’t you be a little more generous for once p>
Julius was so irked he was practically shaking, but in the end-probably because Linnea was a woman-he managed to bite back his retort.
Off to the side, Sylvia watched it all play out, honestly surprised to see Julius-usually so composed and self-assured-looking so thoroughly defeated. Who would’ve guessed ther star actress could be so unintentionally hilarious? Only a few days ago she was talking about her crush on the guy and how she wanted to win him over; now she was driving him up the wall. Did she even remember she was supposed to be chasing after him?
Not that Sylvia was about to intervene. As far as she was
concerned, Linnea and Calliope’s friendship was thriving, and Calliope was clearly looking out for her Maybe their diva really was just a bit clueless and naïve-but she meant well, and that counted for something. This way, she could learn plenty from Ms. Jewell.
Sylvia was more than happy with this arrangement. With Linnea spending her time with Calliope, she wasn’t off getting into trouble. It was a huge weight off Sylvia’s shoulders. Ms. Jewell was the very definition of dependable, and Linnea— miraculously—seemed willing to listen to her. Things couldn’t be better.
As for Calliope, she genuinely found Linnea delightful. There wasn’t a spiteful bone in her body, and her straightforward, slightly oblivious nature made her easy to get along with. Sure she might be flighty whền the cameras weren’t rolling, but her knack for acting was pure talent. Linnea and Julius might not see eye-to-eye in private, but when it came to their work, they both switched into character with ease.
Calliope didn’t waste energy worrying about their petty quarrels. Sometimes she’d joke around with Linnea; sometimes she’d be busy on her phone taking care of business. There was plenty to do.
Whenever Calliope was dealing with work, Linnea would watch her, eyes shining with awe. When she found out Calliope was the famed Miracle Doctor, she became downright relentless, always pestering her to check her and asking if there was anything wrong with her health.
Turned out, Linnea was the very picture of health—thanks, most likely, to eating well, sleeping well, and taking a relaxed approach to life. There wasn’t a thing wrong with her.
