Chapter 304
At the secluded villa, where Michael had managed to have Rain transported without any problems, chaos unfolded. His men were in a panic as Michael raged, killing anyone who had made the slightest mistake or created a setback in his plans.
“I told you to make sure she’s in good shape!” he screamed, his voice full of fury. Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger, ending one of his men’s life right there inside the truck.
Eight hours had passed, and Rain was still unconscious.
“Please, Sir! Don’t kill me! I beg you! I followed the instructions to hit the car! I swear, I didn’t hit it that hard, and I don’t know why she’s still unconscious!” the man pleaded, falling to his knees. But Michael, in a foul mood, showed no mercy and shot him dead.
“Clean up this mess!” he barked at the remaining men before storming inside the villa to check on Rain.
He paced anxiously, his fingers clenched tightly as he bit down on them in frustration. “Why isn’t she waking up yet?!” he shouted, his voice thick with panic as he turned toward the medical team he’d stationed to monitor Rain.
The doctor, maintaining a calm demeanor despite Michael’s growing agitation, responded, “Her vital signs are all normal. We have to wait. It’s possible she’s in a short-term coma after the trauma from the accident p>
Michael’s heart sank. This wasn’t what he envisioned. Everything had gone according to plan, and by now, he should be enjoying himself, but she was still unconscious! Where would be the fun in that? He wanted her to be awake before doing everything he had been planning for years with her!
This wasn’t part of the plan. The goal had been simple: hit Rain’s car, cause a minor accident to get her to Tim’s hospital quickly, and perform the swap without leaving any evidence, without causing her harm. Everything was supposed to go smoothly. But now, with her still unconscious, things were spiraling out of control.
“Make sure she wakes up soon and stays alive, or I’ll have all your heads rolling down this cliff!” Michael growled, his voice cutting through the tense air. His sharp glare lingered on the medical team before he stormed out of the room.
Once outside, he snatched his phone and dialed his men. “Any updates? What are Alexander’s movements?” he demanded.
“He’s still at the hospital,” one of his men reported. “They’re planning to transfer Rain to Meta Doctors Hospital, but Dr. Clayton is holding them off for now p>
Michael smirked, a sinister glint in his eyes. “Good. Now, it’s all on Dina’s performance,” he said, his voice laced with excitement.
The thought of Dina impersonating Rain, deceiving Alexander and everyone else, made his chest swell with pride at his carefully laid plan. He didn’t care what Alexander would eventually do to Dina… she was expendable. What mattered was that Rain was already in his hands, isolated on an island with no chance of escape.
A wicked grin spread across his face as he envisioned the proud and defiant Rain breaking under his control. The mere thought of her begging him for mercy sent shivers of anticipation through him. “Soon, Rain,” he muttered to himself, “you’ll realize you have no choice but to bow to me p>
At Clayton Hospital, Alexander finally stepped out of the car after hours of restless waiting on reports from his team and Clifford and checking every camera footage.
The air inside felt suffocating, and his chest tightened with every passing second. Desperate for relief, he made his way to the rooftop, hoping the open sky would provide some solace. But even there, the weight in his chest refused to lift.
Eight hours. Eight agonizing hours, and still no sign of Rain. His men were combing through every lead, but nothing. The thought that Michael had her burned in his mind. It was all too convenient… Michael Astor had conveniently left the country for a long vacation just yesterday.
“Bullshit,” Alexander muttered through clenched teeth. He knew this was a calculated move. Michael wasn’t gone… he was hiding. And with him was Rain. The realization hit him like a truck.

“I heard you’re here. Come on, brother. Gather yourself,” William’s voice broke through the thick haze of Alexander’s despair. Alexander hadn’t even noticed his presence until William was by his side, pulling him to his feet.
“Everything is settled just as you wanted,” William said. He hesitated, glancing around to ensure no one was nearby before continuing. Even then, his voice dropped to a whisper as he added, “That… sister-in-law,” the words dripping with sarcasm and distaste, “agreed to come with us, but she refused to be transferred to Meta Doctors Hospital. She’s insisting on going home with you instead and demanded personal nurses to look after her p>
Alexander scoffed, a cold smirk tugging at his lips. “That’s even better. As long as she’s under my wing, I’ll play along. Take her straight to the penthouse. Let her have her nurses if it makes her feel safe.” His eyes darkened, and his voice dropped to a chilling tone. “But, William… make sure our special team secures the penthouse. Every entrance. Alexander smirked, cutting him off. “I’ll do whatever it takes, William. Anything. So do as I’ve instructed.” His voice carried a deadly resolve that sent a shiver down William’s spine.
Without another word, William nodded and left, knowing that when Alexander was like this, nothing could stop him.
