~ HENRY
Alisa was a bitch, but she was a bitch that gave good head.
I had no idea where she learned the skills and honestly, I didn’t give a fuck.
I’d been in a shitty mood since last night but when she walked into my office this morning and got on her knees in front of my desk, the shitty mood evaporated and I fucked her hard against the couch until she was screaming loud enough that I knew the maids could hear.
It filled me with pride to know that I was responsible for that. It was a real fucking ego boost, at least, it was, until I heard Nyssa’s emotionless drawl from the doorway.
I hadn’t heard her approach, I hadn’t even heard the door open.
I cursed, fumbling with my pants and smoothing my shirt before turning to her.
Her face was expressionless, but her eyes were tired. Her hair was tied in a messy ponytail that still somehow made her look beautiful. She was in the simplest clothes but it didn’t matter, it never did with her.
“We’re a bit busy actually,” Alisa drawled, the amusement clear as day in her voice. “I think you should come back p>
“Actually, we’re done,” I cut her off. “Come in, Nyssa p>
Both women turned to me in shock.
Nyssa’s mask cracked for a second to show disgust and annoyance while Alisa turned to me with a look of pure betrayal, her eyes narrowing into slits as she placed both hands on her hips.
“We already discussed this, Henry,” Alisa hissed down the bond. “She isn’t important p>
“She returned earlier than expected. Surely something happened p>
“Does it matter?” she snapped. “I don’t like it when you spend time with her. You’re mine, Henry p>
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
Her possessiveness was her most annoying trait, and that said a lot considering she had a fuck ton of them.
“You made a promise p>
“I know what I did,” I cut her off sharply. “I also know that I am Alpha of this pack and until we are officially mated, you don’t have a say. Get out, I need to talk to Nyssa alone p>
She huffed, muttering curses under her breath.
She made to leave when Nyssa stopped her by blocking the exit.
“No need,” she told Alisa. “I’m leaving. I merely came to make it known that I was back. I want no part in whatever… this is p>
Alisa smiled victoriously as she tried to leave but I couldn’t let her go, not until I got what I wanted.
“I asked you to come in,” I growled low.
She stopped in her tracks, a perfectly arched brow raised. “What for exactly? Your office smells like a brothel. Goddess knows whatever the fuck you two were up to in there p>
A rumble left your chest. “That is none of your business p>
“Exactly my point.” She sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose with her fingers. “Look, I just want to go home and take a fucking nap. I’m tired and hungry p>
“You need to brief the council p>
“On what exactly p>
“On the palace. What is life like there? What is their security like? I need to know how many guards they have. If they are going to launch an attack, we need to know exactly how to defeat them. They already have the advantage p>
As I rattled off the list, I rummaged through my drawers for a pen and paper. I found one discarded on the floor among with the other things I swiped off the desk when I needed to fuck Alisa on the desk.
I walked over to Nyssa and held them out to her but she didn’t take it. Instead, she stared at me as if I’d grown an extra head.
“Are you fucking insane?” she hissed. “Can you even hear yourself p>
“That is no way to speak to-” Alisa began but Nyssa cut her off with a warning growl.
“Stay the fuck out of it,” she snapped before turning to me. “I am not your spy. I will not be aiding in this messed up idea you have p>
I stepped up to her, letting the full weight of my aura flow through the room.
As a member of my pack, she could feel it, the sheer power and authority that kept her bound to me. She tried to fight it; considering that she was the Beta’s daughter, she was able to hold her own for far longer than others could.
Even Alisa who was beside me had taken a few steps back, trying to get as far away from the wave as possible.
Nyssa gritted her teeth as her wolf forced her to submit, her head bent low in submission.
“I am your Alpha,” I reminded her. “I don’t care if the King has made you his personal whore, but until he marks you and makes you his mate, you answer to me. You will take this notepad and you will tell me everything I want to know. Do you understand me p>
She nodded slowly, each movement strained and forced. “Yes, Alpha p>
“Good, now get the fuck out p>
She turned on her heels immediately, running down the hall as if someone had lit a fire under her ass.
I cursed, drawing the aura back in and putting a damper on it.
In all the time I’d known Nyssa, I’d never had to do that.
A part of me felt guilty for doing that to her. Despite everything that happened between us, she was still the girl I’d known for years, the friend who sat with me on the swings when we were kids, and the girl I’d been with, the girl I p>
No, she wasn’t that girl anymore,
And I wasn’t that boy anymore.
Things change, and so do people. There was a lot more at stake than just Nyssa and I. This was war, and right now, Rowan was standing on the other end of it, and he was bringing his army to our doorstep under the guise of help.
A hand settled on my lower back and the soft smell of Alisa’s perfume filled my nose.
She let her fingers trail over my body slowly as she stepped up in front of me.
“Henry p>
I dragged her hands off me sharply, tossing them back to her side. “Leave p>
Her mouth fell open. “What? You can’t just p>
“I have work Alisa,” I cut her off. “You need to go p>
Without waiting for a response, I headed for my desk and began flipping through my files.
After what felt like forever, she huffed, stormed out of the office and slammed the door shut behind her.
