Chapter 368
(Author’s POV)
The head nurse tried attempted to salvage the situation, but in front of Alaric, her efforts remained futile.
In the end, she was left with no choice but to take him directly to the control room. There, she replayed the same video she showed to Yelena and Myra, but just as it started, Alaric cut in, “Not this~ I want to see the one with Ms. Yates and her friend in it p>
Lila was left dumbfounded. But when she saw that Alaric wasn’t joking, she urged the control personnel to play the desired clip.
As the person hit the play button, after a brief no show, Yelena appeared in frame. She was conversing with someone, and that someone was none other than Myra.
Seeing her, dressed in a simple white crewneck t-shirt and high waisted, paperbag style brown shorts with a bright and enigmatic smile on her lips, Alaric couldn’t take his eyes off of the screen. When she is beside him, she never once showed such carefree emotions. In that moment, a pang of discomfort enveloped his chest.
But he quickly regained composure, “I have seen what I needed to,” saying his piece, he walked out of the room.
The nurse, desperate, followed him out, “Sir, then~ about the words Ms. Yates said~ she couldn’t complete her words before Alaric strode towards another staff member and took the teal colored lunch box from the person’s hand, “I suppose, that’s not yours p>
He then shifted his attention back to the head nurse and said, “Whatever Ms. Yates and her friend want to do, that’s their choice. I can’t interfere.” And just like that, he walked out of the place.
“Wow, what a beautiful bouquet,” he heard a child’s cutesy voice. His line of sight landed on his full hands, “You like these p>
The kid nodded enthusiastically, and without another word, he gave the bunch of Hydrangeas, along with the fruit basket, to him and exited holding the three tiered box in hand.

“He isn’t answering his phone,” after the nth attempt, Myra stated, her voice laced with worry. “By the way, where are we going p>
Yelena, who had taken the wheel this time, spoke, her voice strained, “There are few places he can go to. Let’s first go to Crown Opulence p>
“The hotel? Why would he go there? Shouldn’t we head to a police station?” Myra questioned.
“No police station. Umm~ what I mean~… is that I have already given the cab’s number to my grandpa’s people. They are looking for its exact location. As for the hotel~ She was interrupted by a phone call.
She glanced at the caller ID, and instead of answering on speaker, she stopped the car, saying, “I need to take this,” and went outside to answer it.
Myra was taken aback by her out of character behavior, but right now, their priority was finding Fabian and making sure he was safe, so she dispersed all other thoughts.
“Hello~ Grandpa,” Yelena spoke.
“Why do you need Mr. Larson’s secretary’s contact number?” Garry jumped straight to the point. Earlier, Yelena had messaged him about wanting Chris’s personal number, stating no specific reason. At that time, he was in a meeting, so he called as soon as he got free.
“Grandpa, I~ I~… want to ask him about Mr. Larson,” Yelena lied through her teeth. “You and he are close business associates. So, I wanted to check up on him p>
“There is no need for that. I have already had a talk with Secretary Shadow,” he stated calmly. “Tell me the actual reason p>
“Huhh? The actual reason what are you saying, grandpa? That is the actual reason,” Yelena said, but her voice wavered.
Garry didn’t hesitate, saying, “Yelena Yates. I am your grandfather. I know when you are lying p>
Yelena was now stuck between a rock and a hard place. She had no choice but to confess, “Umm~ You see~… Prof. Stephens was admitted to a hospital last night. But this morning, he departed the place and is missing. I don’t know anyone he is close with other than Mr. Larson’s secretary. So~ Her voice trailed off at the end.
Garry remained silent for a little while, making Yelena’s heart race. But soon she got the answer she wanted, “Alright, I will send it to you p>
A sigh of relief escaped her mouth, but then her grandfather dropped the bombshell, “Now, that you have called me on your own, I have something to tell you p>
“Ummhmm~… go ahead,” his serious tone took Yelena aback a bit.
Garry gave a light chuckle and spoke, “Don’t sound so serious. What I need to tell you is that your grandmother and I have a flight scheduled for Esteria for tomorrow. It will be arriving near six in the evening p>
Yelena’s eyes flew open, her hands trembling, “You are~ You are coming here?” Her voice came out choked.
“Are you that emotional to see us? Do you miss us so much?” Garry uttered. He misunderstood her cracking voice with happiness and longing.
Clearing her throat, Yelena answered, her clasped on the phone Sandra had given her tightened, “Of Course. I am way too happy, over the moon, in fact.” She tried to sound cheerful.
“Yel, I have another meeting lined up. See you tomorrow,” with that, Garry disconnected the call, leaving Yelena trembling.
Her body, unconsciously, started vibrating as she crouched down.
Myra saw this, latched out of the car at once and ran straight to her, asking, “Yelena, what happened? Why are you~ p>
Seeing Yelena’s trembling figure and slightly red rimmed eyes, she crouched down beside her and gently embraced her while patting her back, “Are you okay to tell me what happened p>
With an obvious shake, she verbalized, “My grandpa said~ he is coming tomorrow p>
Myra’s heart eased listening to her words. She thought something terrible had happened.
It was understandable that with Jacob like that, Garry Yates, who, in Myra’s eyes, was close to the former. She remarked, “Then why are you crying p>
“He isn’t coming alone. My grandmother~ She will be accompanying him,” Yelena revealed the reason for her breakdown.
