Chapter 65 Showered With Friendship and Snacks
Zora held out her small cookies toward them, a little nervous inside.
Why were they staring at her like this?
Some of them even had teary eyes.
She hadn’t done anything wrong, had she?

She’d behaved perfectly in class—just drank milk, flipped through her picture book, and barely said a word.
“Honey, you’re such a sweet girl. Don’t worry, we’ll always look out for you from now on p>
Melted by Zora’s helpless little expression, the girls were instantly filled with fond protectiveness. Hallie stepped forward, set her armful of snacks down on Zora’s desk, then leaned in and pressed a soft kiss right to Zora’s cheek.
Zora froze completely, her lips parting in stunned surprise.
She had no idea how to react at all.
She looked up at Hallie. The girl had sleek shoulder-length hair and delicate, sharp-featured looks, with upturned feline eyes that gave her a bold, striking charm. Right now her eyes sparkled like she’d gotten something precious, and she brushed her own lips gently as if savoring the moment.
Zora fell quiet and unconsciously touched the spot on her cheek where Hallie had kissed her.
Her mentor and cousins had never told her she’d get nibbled out of nowhere at school.
Hallie had acted on a rush of warm affection. Zora’s skin was flawless and soft, utterly adorable. She’d leaned in on impulse and kissed her a little too firmly.
To Zora, it felt like she had been bitten.
“A-Aren’t you hungry?” Zora stammered, holding out the cookies to Hallie while covering her cheek with one hand. “Have these instead. I don’t taste good at all p>
Please eat the cookies and don’t bite me.
Hallie was pretty and smelled nice, but pretty and sweet didn’t mean she could go around biting her.
Zora didn’t feel upset at all. Back in Maplewood, Doris and the others had always doted on her too, sneaking chances to pinch and pat her cheeks when her mentor wasn’t looking.

treasure.
Zora could feel how genuinely fond Hallie was of her.
You’re so cute, Zora, Hallie murmured, her heart swelling with even more affection as she stared at Zora’s dazed face.
The girls behind her watched Hallie enviously.
Ugh, we totally missed our chance. We would’ve loved to steal a kiss from Zora too.
She’s so gorgeous, her cheek must feel absolutely amazing to kiss.
Zora could feel the eager eyes fixed firmly on her. She turned her head and saw the other girls staring at her like hungry wolves.
Pressing her lips together, she spoke hesitantly, “Don’t… don’t bite me. I don’t taste good p>
She wasn’t some snack to be nibbled on.
That was a total surprise attack just now.
Watching her speak so earnestly, the girls couldn’t help laughing, yet they also felt quietly disappointed they’d missed their chance.
“Did you guys…. need something from me?” Zora asked softly, glancing from one girl to the
next.
It was clear they’d all come looking for her.
“We sure do, Zora. These are all for you p>
Reminded of their reason for coming, the girls gently pushed past Hallie, piling armfuls of treats onto Zora’s desk until the small surface was completely covered.
Some snacks even started sliding off the edges.
“Why are you giving all this to me?” Zora asked in confusion.
Were these all for her?

Every item was imported treats-cookies, potato chips, chocolates, candies of every kind.
“We all adore you, Zora. And these aren’t just from us girls. Some are from the guys in class too. They were too shy to hand them over themselves, so they asked us to bring everything for them p>
The girls smiled openly, nodding toward the boys nearby who’d been quietly watching the scene unfold.
The boys thought she was adorable whenever she ate and wanted to spoil her with snacks.
Caught staring, the boys grinned sheepishly and looked away.
Later, Zora shared out all the snacks she’d brought in her backpack.
In return, she ended up with a whole new mountain of treats.
Before long, it was lunchtime.
When the bell rang, Zora jumped up at once, ready to head to the cafeteria.
“Come eat lunch with us, Zora?” Hallie stepped over to her side.
“Yeah, you’re still new here and don’t know your way around yet,” another girl chimed in. “Join us p>
There were only a handful of girls in their class, all close friends who’d grown up together with no petty drama or hidden rivalries. They’d welcomed Zora into their circle without hesitation.
