Killian soon returned, carrying several elegantly packed boxes of fine pastries in his hands.
“Zora, are you heading home or somewhere else? We can send someone to drive you there.” Killian walked over to her gently.
“That’s alright. I’m meeting a friend at the shopping mall,” Zora declined politely.
“Killian, go see her off properly,” Orion instructed softly.
“There’s really no need to trouble yourselves, Mr. Mercer,” Zora refused again, not wanting to bother them.
“It’s no trouble at all. I’ll walk you out p>
For some reason, Killian simply wanted to spend more time staying beside Zora, and even he himself found this strange.
“Wait here for me a little while, Grandpa. I’ll be right back soon,” Killian turned and said to
Orion.
“Alright.
“Zora, you can exchange contact info with Killian. Your mentor has asked us to look after you. We’ll stay in Seacrest for the next six months, so feel free to reach out to him anytime you need help p>
Orion stared closely at Zora’s eyes and spoke to Killian.
Killian had already pulled out his smartphone.
Zora could not turn down this favor. These two men were the reliable people her mentor had arranged for her to rely on.
Since they were in close contact with her mentor, refusing to add them would only make her mentor worry unnecessarily.
After she added him, Killian’s lips curved into a soft smile staring at Zora’s money-themed profile picture.
Zora walked out slowly with Killian right beside her.
Orion watched their retreating figures quietly, his wise gaze lingering mostly on Zora.
Those eyes… how can they look so much like my youngest son’s?

“This is far enough. I can walk the rest of the way myself.” Zora stopped in her tracks after stepping out of Lumina Café.
“Got it. Text me whenever you need anything,” Killian replied.
He didn’t feel good leaving his grandfather alone in the room, so he handed all the pastry boxes over to Zora.
“I will.” Zora took the packages and turned to leave.
Killian stood there watching her walk into the shopping mall before he headed back into the café.
Orion still sat in his original seat, his eyes fixed on the spot where Zora had been sitting earlier.
“Is she gone?” Orion asked.
“Yes, I waited until she entered the mall before coming back.
“Grandpa, you seem to be extremely fond of Zora,” Killian could not help asking.
“Don’t you think she looks oddly familiar to you?” Orion took a sip of coffee.
“Familiar? Grandpa, Mr. H told you to cut back on coffee lately.” Killian felt confused by his words, stepped forward gently, and took the cup away from him.
“I’m already an old man with one foot in the grave. Can’t I even keep this little hobby of mine?” Orion shot him a helpless, reproachful glance.
“You can drink all you want once your health fully recovers, but you just got discharged from the hospital not long ago. I have to keep an eye on you.” Killian even moved the whole coffee pot aside.
“Killian, haven’t you sensed anything unusual about that young girl?” Orion sighed helplessly.
He regretted letting his grandson accompany him back to Seacrest now that he could not even enjoy his daily coffee peacefully.
“Unusual feelings? Do you feel the same way too, Grandpa?” Killian turned around in surprise.
“Look closely at her eyes. The shape is almost identical to yours.” Orion pointed at his grandson’s eyes.
Zora had bright, clear eyes, while Killian had deep eyes. Both of them had eye corners that tilted slightly upward.

“Grandpa, my parents only have me as their only child. If Mom hears this joke, Dad will definitely get grounded and come crying to you,” Killian joked casually.
He was truly the only child in his family.
“Maybe you should get your head checked?” Orion’s expression turned stern, completely losing the warm kindness he had shown Zora earlier.
“Are you saying… but Uncle never got married. How could he possibly have a daughter?” Killian suddenly caught on.
“Have you forgotten all about his wild past?” Orion heaved a long sigh.
If this young girl was indeed his youngest son’s secret child from his reckless younger days, their whole family owed her endless apologies.
Orion was extremely good at judging people, and he firmly believed there must be some hidden blood bond between Zora and their family.
Killian fell silent, recalling events from more than a decade ago. His uncle had once been famously unrestrained and playful, only settling down after falling victim to someone’s scheme. With such a messy romantic history back then, it was entirely possible he had left behind an unknown child somewhere.
The strange warm feeling he felt the moment he met Zora also made everything more plausible.
“Arrange people to look into her real background. We can’t afford to miss this possibility,” Orion said firmly.
The Mercer family had never had any young daughters, and he secretly hoped Zora was truly one of their own blood.
“I’ll get someone to start the investigation right away,” Killian agreed, filled with quiet anticipation deep inside his heart.
“Zora, did you go to Lumina Café? I can’t believe you managed to get their famous pastries p>
Hallie had been nearly dozing off while getting her hair done, and her face lit up with joy the second she spotted Zora carrying several fancy packaging boxes.
“I just dropped by there earlier. I remembered you said their pastries taste amazing, so I brought some back for you p>
