Chapter 1053
“Serena, what the hell are you doing p>
Graves’ face turned a violent shade of purple. Furious, he pushed himself up from the sofa, entirely forgetting his shattered leg. “Are you out of your damn mind? Stop right now p>
Serena stood her ground, hands still in her pockets, projecting the aura of a sovereign. “We inspected the Sector F dormitories p>
“I believe this competition is of the utmost importance to us contestants p>
“This is a matter of national prestige. Therefore, I have unilaterally decided that my team will be requisitioning this house p>
The sheer audacity of the statement hung in the air.
It was so staggeringly arrogant that the stunned members of The Board of Arbiters finally snapped out of their daze.
Were the contestants this year actually insane? Raiding the Chief Arbiter’s private residence?
One of the arbitrators aggressively stepped forward, his voice booming. “You brats better pick up every single thing you just threw out and drag yourselves out of here p>
“What is wrong with you? This is the Chief Arbiter’s private residence! Breaking in, destroying federal property—you are in severe violation of protocol p>
The massive men from The Board of Arbiters cracked their knuckles and stepped forward as a united front.
Six or seven heavily muscled veterans, all standing over six-foot-two, forming a wall of pure intimidation.
The oppressive atmosphere was suffocating. Caleb and the rest of the team instinctively shrank back, but they quickly gritted their teeth and forced themselves
to step in front of Serena, trying to shield her with their scrawny frames.
Serena looked at her teammates, who looked like terrified chicks trying to protect a hawk from a pack of wolves.
She let out a soft, amused laugh and gently pushed them aside.
“Violation of protocol p>
She arched an eyebrow and took a slow, deliberate step forward, her long legs closing the distance between her and the wall of muscle.
She radiated a casual, almost bored energy. Her beautiful eyes were cool and indifferent, showing absolutely no sign of adrenaline or fear.
Yet, as she took that single step forward, the hulking veterans instinctively froze.
A bizarre, inexplicable wave of apprehension washed over them, rooting their feet to the floor.
“What protocol did I violate?” Serena asked smoothly.
The arbitrator who had spoken hesitated suddenly embarrassed that a college girl was making him second-guess himself. He immediately hardened his expression.
“During the competition, contestants are strictly forbidden from entering staff zones, and absolutely forbidden from launching unprovoked attacks on officials! You have severely violated the rules. We have the authority to disqualify your team right now p>
Serena smiled. It was a strange, chilling smile.
“Staff zones?” she repeated lightly.
“This is clearly the designated residence for The Hope Initiative,” she stated, her
tone laced with absolute, unshakeable conviction.
Even more boldly, she shifted her gaze to Graves, her eyes dropping to the temperature of liquid nitrogen. “You, and your dogs. Get out p>
Graves was shaking with a mix of fury and disbelief.
He had never imagined Serena
would be this arrogant. Even surrounded by a room
full of combat
veterans, she was still looking down
on him like he was dirt.
His face twisted into an ugly sneer. “You’re completely out of your mind p>
“Take her down! All of you, at once! I refuse to believe a little brat can run wild in front of The Board of Arbiters p>
The arbitrators exchanged a dark look. Their eyes narrowed with aggressive intent.
Without hesitation, the massive men lunged at Serena simultaneously.
Six giants charging forward, fists raised, intending to crush her. The visual was utterly terrifying.
