Chapter 1165
Special Envoy Mordecai finally recognized her.
This girl was the Demon of the Gray Zone!
He couldn’t believe it. The infamous Demon, a name that struck terror into the hearts of anyone who heard it in the Gray Zone, was actually this young.
Did she even look twenty?
Four years ago, had she even been an adult?
Just moments earlier, he had been boasting in the control room.
He had arrogant claimed that he would love to cross paths with the Ghost Alliance’s Demon one more time.
He had been absolutely certain that with four years of advancements and his highly mutated body engineered by The Obsidian Sun, he would completely obliterate the Demon.
But now p>
Now that he realized the person standing right in front of him was actually the Demon, the reality hit him.
A primal terror seeped out from his very bones, impossible to suppress.
This Demon p>
She had nearly ended his life four years ago.
And now, four years later, she had managed to infiltrate the island right under The Obsidian Sun’s nose, completely undetected, and effortlessly paralyzed the security system they took so much pride in.
Serena raised an eyebrow, a faint, mocking smirk playing on her lips.
She stepped over the scattered bodies of the Obsidian Augments, taking slow, deliberate steps until she stopped right in front of the envoy.
Mordecai’s instincts screamed at him to retreat.
Even as he frantically reminded himself that he was an advanced mutant now and had no reason to fear her, his body betrayed him.
He couldn’t stop shaking.
But this was The Obsidian Sun’s territory, and countless guards were watching his every move.
If he backed down now, he would lose all his standing within the organization.
He clenched his jaw, forcing himself to stay rooted to the spot.
Serena stopped in front of him, her smirk deepening. “Marrow p>
She called him by the codename he had used four years ago.
“Four years ago in the Gray Zone, you barely managed to scurry away with your
life p>
Serena looked at his horrifying face, mapped with dark purple, bulging veins, and let out a derisive laugh. “Let’s see just how much stronger this heap of scrap metal The Obsidian Sun built is compared to back then p>
Hearing Serena’s blatant mockery, the envoy-Marrow-finally lost his nerve and took a step back.
His face flushed a deep, humiliated red before draining to an ashen gray. She had completely shattered his composure.
“I’m an advanced mutant now! I’m
not a normal human anymore!” Marrow roared hoarsely, his voice x his voice
and
trembling with a mix of shame rage. “You think you can tak@me? You are no match for me now p>
Serena arched an eyebrow. “Care to test that theory p>
Without wasting another breath, she moved.
She lunged forward, fast as lightning, aiming a brutal punch straight at Marrow’s face.
Marrow’s eyes widened in panic, and he threw his arms up to block the strike.
His reflexes were more than three times faster than the standard Augments.
Reacting on instinct, he swung a heavy fist aimed right at Serena’s head, the sheer force of it cutting through the air.
Serena simply tilted her head.
The punch grazed past her hair, slamming violently into the wall behind her.
The reinforced concrete instantly caved in, a massive crater forming as thick spiderweb cracks splintered outward.
Serena took two steps back, assessing him. “This body of yours is definitely a step up from those defective Augments p>
“Good power. But your movements are too stiff. Did they mess up your muscle coordination during the modifications p>
As she spoke, she delivered a swift, brutal kick to the back of Marrow’s knee, forcing him to buckle.
Marrow’s expression twisted into a savage scowl as he lunged at her again.
He rolled across the floor, sweeping his kneeling leg out in a vicious arc aimed at Serena’s ankles.
Serena leaped effortlessly into the air, dodging the sweep.
In the same fluid motion, a flurry of silver needles shot from her hand.
Marrow twisted sideways to evade them, but one needle grazed his arm, slicing open a deep gash.
There was no blood.
The edges of the wound were a sickly, ashen gray, looking entirely like dead flesh.
Serena analyzed him aloud. “Your

cellular regeneration is faster than the Augments and they keptu
pain receptors intact. But this body won’t hold up for much longer p>
Then, she struck again.
“Your heart rate is erratic. They didn’t stabilize your cardiovascular system during
the procedure p>
