Now, she had it all figured out.
She finally pulled her hands out of her pockets. Her slender fingers were strikingly pale.
Her gaze turned freezing cold. She lowered her stance and charged straight ahead. Her speed was astonishing. It was almost on par with the chemically altered velocity of the mutated Augment.
As the creature pounced, Serena didn’t back down. Instead, she met it head-on. The second its claws reached for her throat, she forcefully drove her knee straight into its abdomen.
Using the momentum, she flipped sideways, launching a brutal sweeping kick that smashed directly into the Augment’s shin.

The sickening sound of bone snapping echoed clearly in the pod.
She kicked its leg until it twisted violently out of shape. Its kneecap shattered, and the massive creature stumbled heavily.

But the Augment didn’t show a
single hint of pain. It merely tilted its
head. The red glare in its eyes burned even brighter, as if the int had only completely enraged it.
Serena’s eyes remained calm. With a swift blur of motion, she slipped behind it.
A cold glint flashed in her hand. Several silver needles pierced with absolute precision into the back of its neck.
