Jonathan was in his office listening to two department heads give their reports. When he saw his phone light up, he asked them to wrap things up and dismissed them early.
He answered the call, grabbed his mug, and walked over to the dispenser. “How’s your grandma doing p>
“She’s doing pretty well. Dr. Chevalier said she’s recovering fine, and she’s asleep right now p>
Hearing the cheerful tone in Anneliese’s voice, Jonathan’s lips curved up just a little. But remembering how she said she wasn’t jealous earlier, his smile faded again, and he fell silent.
With him saying nothing, Anneliese felt the pressure even through the phone. It made her uneasy, so she licked her lips before speaking again.

Mr. Fullbuster really seems off today. Even with something as simple as getting water, he was so absent- minded that he spilled it. That’s not like him at all.
Plus, he used to prioritize Mrs. Fullbuster’s issues. Now he’s not even going to visit her grandma himself? That’s just strange.
