She stood, glass in hand.
“Whether you believe me or not, I wasn’t involved in what Zacharias did, and I knew nothing about it.
“I may be divorcing him now, but it isn’t final yet. So, if you want to call me his wife and think I profited from him, you’re not wrong. This first glass is my apology p>
She tilted her head back and swallowed the wine until the glass was empty.
Rory didn’t flinch. His eyes stayed cold.
Anneliese lifted the second glass. “I heard about your failed startup, how your team left you, and your girlfriend walked out. This one’s for that p>
She downed it in one gulp, swaying as she set it down. Jessica caught her arm.

Anneliese steadied herself and picked up the last glass.
