He was certain that day would come.
Jonathan stopped mid–step. His tall silhouette turned, sharp and imposing against the shadows. His face remained unreadable, but his glacial stare slammed into Zacharias like a sledgehammer.
“Marriage begins with kindness, and from that, love grows. Support, trust, gratitude–that’s what real love is built on. Whether she loves me or not isn’t yours to decide. But you… ”
That was Jonathan’s perspective on marriage, but confronted with Zacharias‘ mocking eyes, Jonathan’s lips curved into a humorless smile. He felt like he was talking to a brick wall, completely wasting his breath.
