Perseus heard Christopher’s twisted laughter. He closed his eyes and stayed silent. The sorrow and self-mockery surrounding him were no less than Christopher’s.
Outside the private room, Luke dismissed the others and opened the door at the end of the hallway. His arrogance was gone, replaced by a polite, almost respectful smile.

Timothy had tried to cover up White Inc.’s broken cash flow, but the news had spread quickly. He was in custody, but the White brothers were still around. Luke was the one who had deliberately leaked and guided the spread of that information. Even the Doyle Group’s earlier show of interest in buying White Inc. had been part of the scheme. Just when Perseus and Christopher thought they saw

The large private room held only Zion. There were no flashy lights-just a bottle of red wine and two glasses on the table.
Zion raised his glass. Luke hurried over, bent slightly, picked up the other glass, and clinked it carefully before downing the wine with a grin.

Zion stood, shook his hand briefly, and walked out.
Perseus and Christopher leaned on each other as they left the club and stepped into the parking lot.
Perseus was about to open the car door when a pair of blinding headlights suddenly hit them. He shielded his eyes and looked over. A Bentley door swung open, and someone stepped out.
As the figure approached, they recognized Zion-Jonathan’s trusted aide. Both brothers stiffened, instantly on guard.
“What brings you here, Mr. Harland?” Perseus asked first.
Zion looked them over, amusement playing on his lips.

They stopped and turned. He pulled out his phone, snapped a few photos, and raised his voice.

Their bruised faces froze. Somehow, their injuries seemed to ache even more. They couldn’t afford to offend Zion, so they turned back to the car in silence.
