Nakala and Melody were close, which only made Melody the constant point of comparison.
Every time someone praised Nakala for her luck, they’d bring up Melody just to put her down.
Melody’s husband was a loser who drank, gambled, and beat her. Melody didn’t have a proper job and spent her days cutting fish at the market, so she was always reeking of fish.

Melody didn’t feel it was wrong for her to tell Nakala.

Zion looked disappointed, not having heard what he was hoping for.

Jonathan had installed the bug in Zacharias’ suit pocket during their fight in the private room.
Roretha never said she saw Melody coming out of Anneliese’s building. She just saw Melody running home, looking panicked, about half an hour before Nakala’s accident.
Roretha’s testimony wasn’t enough.
Jonathan brought up Roretha to try to get Zacharias to confront Melody, hoping she’d admit the truth.
But Melody turned out to be too cautious-not even her own son could get her to talk.
Zacharias really is a failure at handling things.

Melody’s denials were clean-she hadn’t slipped up at all in the recording.
