Whether it was his movements or his gaze, everything about him made her unbearably flustered.
“Don’t move.” Jonathan’s voice came out low and hoarse.
Hearing the danger in his tone, Anneliese bit her lip and turned her head away.
Their clothes rustled softly. Clearly, he was helping her get dressed, yet somehow Anneliese felt even more embarrassed than when he had been undressing her moments earlier.
“I’ll help you too.” She took a deep breath, turned back around, and reached out to straighten his clothes as well.

Anneliese shot him a glare. Her hands were far more nimble than his; she quickly fastened two buttons for him. “I’m just worried about Jessica. By the way, who did Zane invite tonight p>
Carter, Joel, plus two partners from Zane’s law firm. When they arrived at the restaurant, they happened to run into Adrian and Steven, along with some executives of the Malone Group. Adrian had told Steven to bring the younger ones and join their room.
However, Jonathan had zero interest in letting Anneliese’s attention drift to anyone else. Hence, he pressed her waist and said, “You’ve been with your best friend all week, isn’t that enough? I guess a man’s greatest romantic rival is his wife’s girlfriend p>
Hearing his words, Anneliese was speechless. She wondered where he picked up such ridiculous logic.
“Mr. Fullbuster, are you seriously jealous of Jessica p>
Jonathan nodded without hesitation and said, “Can’t I be? Don’t go home tonight, alright?” As he spoke, he caressed her waist.
Anneliese bit her lip and shook her head. “No. Grandma might video call Jessica and me later p>
Jonathan pursed his lips together and said, “Why does this feel like I’m dating a minor?” After all, he had to be worried about parental supervision and sneaking around all the time.
Afraid he’d get upset, Anneliese tugged lightly on his tie and asked, “Are you upset p>
Jonathan could never stand seeing her anxious. He smiled and said, “No. This hidden relationship is kinda interesting too p>
Anneliese’s face burned at his words. She wanted to be angry, yet when she thought of how they’d just been kissing wildly in the dark and still tangled up even now, she had to admit that it felt as if they were having a secret affair.
As she thought about it, her cheeks flushed even redder. She tightened her hand, and the tie snapped taut in an instant, tightening Jonathan’s collar sharply.

Not wanting to deal with the nonsense coming out of his mouth, Anneliese loosened the tie, slid off his lap, and pulled him up with her.

Seeing she was truly anxious, Jonathan stopped teasing her. He held her shoulders, looked her over carefully to ensure her clothes were neat, before leading her out.
Anneliese didn’t see Jessica in the hallway. She tried to call her, but the call didn’t go through.
“She probably went ahead on her own.” Anneliese guessed.
Jonathan nodded and led her toward the private room.
When the two stepped inside together, the room abruptly quieted down. Everyone stopped their conversations and looked over.
There were fewer people than
Anneliese expected. Besides Joel and Carter, there were three other young men she didn’t recognize, all clearonathan’s social circle, from as every of them was polished and imposing.
However, there was no sign of Zane or Jessica.
As Anneliese swept her gaze across the room, she was met with a clear gaze.

It was Steven, whom she had met once before.
Anneliese’s eyes brightened at the sight of him. After all, she was half a fan of his.
In that split second, she smiled instinctively. Steven looked at her for a moment, feeling a sense of familiarity.
However, the moment Anneliese smiled, she regretted it as she recalled Gianna’s hostility toward her.
Steven was Gianna’s brother and India’s cousin. For all she knew, ke might be just like Gianna-believing she was a mistress who sabotaged. the Malones and Fullbusters marriage alliance.
If Steven gave her the cold shoulder in public, that would be mortifying.
Thinking about it, Anneliese felt nervous, and Jonathan noticed it instantly.
Then, he slid her hand to her waist. Under everyone’s eyes, he pulled her tightly into
his arms and glanced at Steven with a cold expression.
