Jonathan sat down on the couch and crossed his legs, staring coldly at the three hitmen.
“Take a look,” he said, looking toward Zion.
His assistant immediately tossed a stack of investigation files in front of the three men.
Upon taking a look, their faces turned even paler.
The files were filled with detailed information about themselves. Every crime they had committed over the years had been documented, along with information about their family members and where they lived.
That alone was enough to get them locked up for ten to twenty years.
Moreover, it was clear that their families wouldn’t be spared if the man in front of them decided against it.
It was obvious now that they had been discovered long ago. Tonight had simply been a trap, and now, the noose had tightened around their necks.
“Who are you?” asked the leader, trembling.
He had committed the most crimes out of the three.
He knew they were truly finished this time, and they had provoked someone they shouldn’t have.
Jonathan didn’t even bother answering him.
“That doesn’t matter. What matters is what you plan to do next,” Zion said coldly. The leader gulped and clenched his fists. “What will it take for you to let us go? Zion chuckled. “You guys were attempting murder, and there’s no such thing as getting away with it. But if you do as you’re told, I can guarantee that your families won’t be dragged into this. If they run into trouble, we might even offer a little assistance p>
Hearing there was no way out, all three of them went weak and collapsed onto the floor.
But with the situation as it was, they had no other choice but to comply.
“We’ll do whatever you say!” Finally, the leader gave in.

With that, he stood up and left.
The night was dark and gloomy.
Melody, however, was still awake and glued to her phone.
The hitmen she hired promised they would be acting tonight, and she even paid them a one-million deposit.
As agreed, once Roretha was dead, she would pay the remaining balance.
Hours had gone by, and she still hadn’t heard a thing from them.

“Of course.” The voice on the other end delivered news that made Melody both relieved and excited.
She trembled in excitement. “She’s dead, right? Hurry up and send me a video! I’l transfer the rest of the money to you immediately p>
It had been agreed beforehand.
Once they dealt with Roretha and sent her the video of how they handled the body for confirmation, she would pay the remaining balance to the designated account.
The deal would be complete, and both sides would reap the benefits.
Melody thought everything had gone smoothly, but the caller laughed coldly.
“What’s the rush? We’ve already taken her out. She’s in our hands right now, but the plan’s changed p>

She had found these people through certain channels and never expected something like this to happen.
