Kane
Damn! Damn! This can’t be happening.
Every limb in my body seemed numb with shock. My hands clenched into fists, my nails digging into my calloused skin. I wanted to transform into a wolf form, but at that time, I couldn’t reveal my identity among humans.
All I could think about was that someone had taken Zara. Someone had taken my Blue Rose, and I had failed to protect it as I had promised.
“A description. I need a description of the man and where he was headed,” I demanded, approaching the completely shocked Masja. Turning to Azbiale, I ordered grimly,
“And I need a phone. Call security. I swear, if anything happens to my girlfriend, I will hold you accountable.” The old man moved quickly for his age. This was his home, and if anything happened to my girlfriend, I would hold him accountable.
Masja spoke feverishly, but her description was precise. We ran out of the conference room.
Every step seemed heavy and took an eternity. Zara’s smiling face wouldn’t leave my mind.
Terrifying thoughts washed over me like a thick fog, enveloping my heart and suffocating me with every step.
“We’ll find her. I called security, and they’ve locked down the entire premises.” Azbial joined me, quickly dialing a number.
“Close all exits. Tell your security to check all the security footage with my men to see if anyone has left the premises in the last hour,” I dictated, chuckling irritably, hoping we weren’t too late.
The four of us reached the first floor, the same hall where I’d left Zara. There were several elevators. She pointed to the central one. Larry was still worried.

“Where does it lead?” “I demanded, turning to Azbial, trying to pull myself together.
My composure was frayed and nonexistent. I was losing control.
Azbial looked slightly confused and puzzled at the same time.
“This elevator leads to the basement, and only those who know the code can use it. We have security codes, but they can be bypassed using my fingerprint.” Azbial stepped forward and placed his hand on the glass sensor.
The red indicator beeped, indicating that the elevator was either stuck or broken.
“It’s stuck, we need to reboot the system.” Azbial dialed another number and began giving instructions on how to reboot the system so we could open the elevator.
A crowd had gathered, but I didn’t care; I needed to get to the basement. She could still be inside.
“Where are the stairs to the basement?” I growled, grabbing Azbial by the shoulder.
He pointed, and I ran. She wasn’t very fond of elevators. I figured she was claustrophobic, and it could turn into a nightmare if she was still trapped inside.
As fast as my legs could carry me, I ran for the stairs, taking them two at a time. Teleportation had never seemed so tempting to me as it did at that moment.
Two guards rushed toward me as I burst out of the basement door.
“Elevator?” I thundered, and they pointed in the opposite direction.
My feet refused to stop, my boots crunching on the hard surface. That damn tie felt like a noose around my neck, preventing me from breathing properly.
And then I realized I couldn’t breathe because of it. It was quickly becoming the very oxygen I needed to survive. The system must have rebooted, because when we got there, the elevator door was opening, and my heart leapt at the sight I saw.
At the far end of the elevator lay a man in a waiter’s uniform, his hand twisted at an odd angle, his legs spread wide, and blood all around him.
But it was the woman lying right by the elevator door that made me scream in despair and rage.
Her dress was torn, and her fiery red hair was scattered across the floor like lost ribbons.
Her eyes were half-closed, her lips moving slowly as she muttered, “Kane p>
My heart sank, drawing me closer to her. It seemed she was fighting with all her might to keep them out of the elevator, but the sight of her state made me go cold.
My wolf was going to kill that bastard.
Quickly removing my coat, I rushed into the elevator and covered her.
“Zara, I got you. You’re safe,” I muttered, picking her up, and she passed out in my arms. I held her close, trying to keep her safe, but to no avail.
Turning to the guards, I furiously ordered:
“Seize him and lock him up. Don’t call the police. I’ll question him personally p>
Zara clung to me, even unconscious. I rushed to the car, hugging her tightly. I wasn’t sure how badly she was hurt, so I needed to get her to the hospital.
“Zara,” I called out to her several times and patted her cheek, hoping she’d wake up and open her beautiful eyes. But she was unconscious.
She had a small bruise on her left cheek, and that small bruise angered me beyond belief. This man had no idea who he was dealing with, and I was about to unleash my worst side on him.
Unfortunately, few people knew that I had not two personalities, but three, and the third was the worst.
Ceysir rushed toward me, engulfed in anxiety, while Olfi opened the car door, realizing the situation.
“Zara’s injured. Stay here and assist with the investigation of the detainee. Make sure he’s not handed over to the police. I need him,” I ordered Ceysir.
He glanced worriedly at Zara’s unconscious body, then turned to me and nodded quickly.
I got into the car, holding her in my arms, and Olfi closed the door behind me.
As soon as he settled behind the wheel, I commanded,
“To the hospital.” Olfi didn’t need to be told twice: the car roared to life, and we sped away.
Placing Zara’s head on my lap, I pulled her coat off to inspect the extent of her injuries.
There was a bruise on her shoulder, a deep cut from which blood was oozing and clotted. Her dress was torn, and the mere thought of someone touching her inappropriately made my blood boil.
