title = Messing With Her? Are You Crazy! Chapter N
Drake Hunter Base.
The man stood well over six foot three. Imposing and hardened, his shadow stretched long under the harsh fluorescent lights.
He had completely changed his face.
His brow bone was heavier, his jawline sharper, his irises a shade lighter.
At first glance, he looked like a Eurasian operative.
Cold, ruthless, and radiating a suffocating bloodlust.
He was no longer Elyndor’s Special Forces King.
He was the notorious mercenary contractor-Fenris.
On the table in front of him lay firearms, combat knives, a comms earpiece, and a black-market boarding pass.
He inspected them methodically, one by one.
Behind him, a subordinate couldn’t help but speak up. “Boss, are you sure you don’t
need us trailing you from the shadows p>
Jerrick didn’t turn around. “Don’t alert the enemy. Right now, I’m Fenris, an independent mercenary contractor. I have zero ties to the Elyndor government p>
The subordinate hesitated for a second. “But p>
Jerrick cut him off icily. “No ‘buts p>
“You have your orders. Secure the perimeter and wait for my signal p>
He picked up the burner phone tied to his Fenris alias.
Inside the encrypted channel, his contractor dashboard was already active.
His thumbs tapped out a single word.
[Boarding p>
The channel fell dead silent.
Then, a rapid cascade of confirmation pings flooded the screen.
Jerrick didn’t bother reading them.
He grabbed his jacket, turned, and strode out.
The night wind howled across the training grounds.
He looked up into the suffocating darkness of the sky.
For a moment, he thought he could see Serena’s beautiful, bright face
superimposed against the clouds.
The tactical weave he had given her was laced with a highly calculated dose of a transdermal sedative.
It wouldn’t harm her, and there would be no side effects.
As soon as she tried it on, the drug would seep through her pores and knock her out cold.
She would sleep straight through the night.
All the way until that damned ghost ship had sailed far, far away from Whitecliffe Harbor.
Thinking of his sister, a rare softness touched Jerrick’s stony features.
A faint smile pulled at his lips.
Sleep well, Serena.
I’ll handle the danger.
Jasper sat inside his Obsidian Dark Web studio.
A wall of monitors illuminated the room, all streaming hacked
surveillance feeds from the routes leading to Project Zero-Transit’s vaelion pick-up points.
One specific screen displayed the feed from a micro-camera hidden inside Serena’s bedroom.
The lens was concealed within a candy wrapper.
The angle was limited, but it was enough to clearly capture the silhouette on the
bed.
The blanket was pulled up to her shoulders.
Her breathing was slow and even.
She was completely under.
Jasper leaned back in his chair,
resting his long legs lazily on the et
edge of the desk Beside his hand Silver-gray half-mask bearing a
sat
distorted, smiling face.
He watched the screen, a smug grin curling his lips as he twirled an unwrapped gummy between his fingers. “Sedative Core Gummies. Jasper approved Delicious and highly effective p>
He tossed the candy into the air and caught it cleanly.
“Oh, Serena… you put way too much trust in me p>
“Have a good night’s rest. Leave the heavy lifting to me p>
With that, he slowly stood up.
He picked up the silver-gray mask and pressed it to his face.
The mask covered his devastatingly gorgeous features.
All that remained visible were those laughing, crescent-shaped eyes.
Carefree.
Yet brimming with homicidal intent.
This was the hallmark of the underworld’s most infamous bounty broker-The Grinning Wraith.
The corner of his mouth tilted up into a languid, unbothered smirk.
Anyone familiar with The Grinning Wraith knew that when he smiled like that p>
Someone was about to die a very painful death.
A notification pinged on his encrypted bounty terminal: [The Grinning Wraith. Hunter
boarding port activated. Project Zero-Transit awaits your kills p>
Jasper scoffed coldly and typed his reply: [Tell them to say their prayers p>
The operator on the other end assumed he meant he was coming for Serena.
Only Jasper knew the truth.
He was talking about every single mercenary scum who dared to take the bounty on
his sister’s head.
To the bastards who wanted her dead:
Don’t panic.
Daddy’s home.
The outskirts of Whitecliffe Harbor.
Black waves crashed violently under the starless night.
The ocean wind reeked of salt and metallic cold, a chill that seemed to bite straight
down to the bone.
