“Margo, come and continue your performance,” the director said, cutting through the awkward silence as he sensed the tension in the air.
Margo, who had been anxiously waiting, hurried forward to take her place.
Annabel stepped back, her heart still pounding from the unexpected kiss. As the scene continued, Rory couldn’t focus. His eyes kept drifting around the set, searching for Annabel.
But Annabel was already gone before the director called, “Cut.”
Margo tried to reach out to Rory, but he stopped her coldly. “It’s none of your business.”
He shot her an icy glance and walked away, leaving Margo standing there, tears welling in her eyes. Did he despise her that much?
On her way home, Annabel replayed the kiss over and over, realizing the trouble it could cause if Rupert ever found out. He would kill Rory if he knew.

“Let’s start,” she said, abruptly shifting everyone’s focus back to the shoot.
