Chapter 1087
“Miss Clifford, why did you call me at this time? Is there any progress?” Susan asked curiously.
“Of course there is.” With a confident smile, Talia explained, “I went to Leo Studio earlier, and guess who I ran into? Annabel. I told her I was there to order a dress for myself. When I finally placed the order, I realized the designer I met is the person temporarily in charge of the studio, and Annabel trusts her a lot.”
After updating Susan on what had happened at Leo Studio, Talia nodded slightly and added, “Don’t worry. I’ll get Annabel’s design draft by any means necessary. I promise everything will be fine.”
“Really?” Susan asked, then smiled with satisfaction. “Since you’re so confident, I’ll wait for the good news. I hope you won’t let me down, Miss Clifford,” she added.
“Of course,” Talia replied with a self-assured smile.
They exchanged a meaningful look before taking a sip of coffee. Some things, after all, couldn’t be made too obvious.
After the incident on the day Marcel was discharged from the hospital, Anika’s life became more peaceful. Some of Marcel’s fans even followed her social media account, and there were always two kinds of comments under her posts. At first, the remarks stressed her out, but eventually she learned to scroll past them.
Now she was focused on recovering her strength and spending time with Marcel. Anika had thought it through. Since she had agreed to marry him, it would be impossible to keep their relationship in that ambiguous, distant state forever. If it continued like that, it would cause problems sooner or later.
After resting at home for more than two weeks, Marcel was doing much better. Although he still couldn’t return to the crew to finish the remaining work, he practiced some of the simpler lines at home again and again, and Anika helped by reading opposite him as the heroine.
Meanwhile, Marcel was also working on a plan.
“Anika, my medicine is almost gone. Can you go to the hospital and get me some more?” Marcel needed pills to stabilize and support his organs after the accident.

Anika believed him without hesitation. “Okay, I’ll go right away.”
It was around four in the afternoon, and the doctor usually got off at five.
After making sure she had left—and wouldn’t be back anytime soon—Marcel rushed to the cloakroom, excited. He took out everything he had prepared and started setting things up.
Thirty minutes later, he paused to catch his breath while decorating one of the walls, then called Anika.
“Anika, on your way back, can you stop by Meet Sugar and buy two boxes of mango pudding and a slice of low-sugar Schwarzwald for me? I’m craving dessert.”
“Sure, but I’m at the hospital right now, and the cake shop is on the west side of the city. It might be past seven by the time I get home. Can you wait until then?”
“It’s okay. Take your time. I’m not in a hurry!” Marcel grew even more excited, telling himself that the later Anika came home, the better.
After hanging up, Anika frowned at her phone. Why was Marcel acting so strange all of a sudden? “Forget it. I’ll just get the medicine and then pick up the dessert.”
By the time she got home, it was already eight in the evening. Bowen had persuaded Katie to let Anika and Marcel develop their relationship, and the two of them had returned to their hometown.
