The doctor’s expression changed instantly. He called for nurses, and within moments, a team hurried over to rush Anika toward the operating room.
The girl was horrified. She hadn’t meant for something like this to happen. Her face turned ashen, panic flickering in her eyes. She instinctively tried to run, but Elena stopped her.
Elena clenched her jaw, shaking with rage. “Do you have any sense of decency? My daughter is more than three months pregnant. If anything happens to her, I will report you to the police. You’ll be a murderer!”
The girl’s eyes filled with tears. The commotion drew the attention of security guards, who quickly rushed over and took the fan girl away. Gradually, the corridor settled back into uneasy silence.
Elena remained furious and terrified. She stayed outside the operating room, pacing and sitting in turns, unable to stay still. All she could do was hope and pray that her daughter—and the baby—would be safe.
Elena’s thoughts immediately turned to Marcel. Panicked, she dialed his number. “Marcel, something terrible has happened! Anika was harassed and pushed by a girl. I don’t know if the baby can be saved. Please come to the hospital right away!”
Marcel was at work when he received Elena’s call. He was instantly overwhelmed with worry and left without a second thought.
When he arrived at the hospital, he found Elena waiting anxiously outside the operating room. He rushed to her. “How is Anika doing?”
“Marcel…” Elena was a bundle of nerves. Tears streamed down her face as she stood up and stared at the operating room door.
“You finally came. Anika has been in there for over two hours now. I don’t know how she is, or if the baby…”
Her voice trailed off into broken sobs. Marcel was just as frightened, but he forced himself to steady her first.
“What happened?” he asked, voice tight. “Wasn’t Anika fine when you brought her in this morning? I asked her before she left.”

Elena took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and recounted the entire incident. Marcel’s expression darkened as he listened. He hadn’t expected one of his fans to behave in such a vicious way.
His fists clenched at his sides. After a long moment, he said through gritted teeth, “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it. Let’s wait for the doctor to come out and tell us how Anika is doing.”
Elena nodded, and they both sat in tense silence, waiting.
About ten minutes later, the operating room door opened and the doctor stepped out.
Elena hurried forward and asked, her voice trembling, “Doctor, how is my daughter? Is she okay?”
The doctor let out a sigh of relief and turned to Elena. “She’s a little over three months pregnant, which can be a delicate stage of pregnancy. But thankfully, she was brought into the operating room in time. Otherwise, the baby might not have survived, and she could have faced complications later on. For now, she’s stable. However, she needs to rest well after the procedure, and she must not become emotional. It would be best if everyone around her keeps things light.”
“Okay… thank you,” Elena said.
Relief flooded her. She bowed repeatedly to the doctor, thanking him again and again.
