But as soon as Anika remembered the photo of Marcel and Elva looking intimate, her emotions surged again. She turned her back on him.

“Mom, don’t say that,” Marcel said at once, stepping in to defend Anika.
“Well, since you’re fine, let’s go home,” Bowen added.
Thankfully, Anika and the baby were both okay.
After that frightening scare, Marcel took Anika home.
“Anika, what happened? Why did your abdomen hurt?” Marcel asked anxiously, prompted by the sadness still on her face.
“See for yourself!” Anika pulled out her phone, opened the photo, and shoved it toward Marcel.
Marcel took the phone and froze when he saw the picture of himself with Elva. It had been taken when Elva was too weak to stand and he was helping her toward the car. From that angle, their posture looked far more intimate than it really was.
But why was there a photo of it?
“Where did you get this?” Marcel asked darkly.
“I don’t know!” Anika glared at him and snapped, “Do you understand now what you’ve done p>
“Anika, it’s not what you think. Don’t you trust me? You’re the only one in my heart.” Marcel tried to explain gently. “She wasn’t feeling well. I was only helping her to the car p>
Anika turned her head away.
She didn’t know whether to believe him or not. Nothing changed the fact that her mood sank the moment she pictured that photo again.
The next day, worried about Anika, Marcel contacted Annabel. “Annabel, something happened to Anika last night. Can you please come visit her p>
