Moreover, Melody had never liked her as a daughter–in–law. She always believed her son deserved someone better. A real high–society heiress. The kind worth billions. So, giving Anneliese 500 million? Melody could live with that.
Zacharias had betrayed her–Anneliese was determined to let him taste what it felt like to be stabbed in the back by someone he trusted most.
Seeing how confident she was, Miles raised his brows in amusement.

Anneliese’s smile widened. She raised her hand and gave him a high–five.
Just then, the elevator doors opened onto the first floor. As they stepped out, they almost bumped into Jonathan and a large group trailing behind him.
This time, it wasn’t just two people following him–there were several more.
Anneliese immediately noticed one man carrying a Nexa drone, another holding a laptop, and two doctors in white coats. One of the doctors was carrying a blood transport cooler.
The group moved quickly, tension thick in the air. People in the lobby instinctively stepped aside to let them through.
Anneliese also moved to one side, her eyes briefly locking with Jonathan’s.

They were almost to the parking lot when a wave of reporters came running in the opposite direction, heading toward the hospital’s inpatient wing.

With that, she turned and ran back toward the hospital.
As the elevator climbed, she quickly read through the trending topics and pieced together what had happened.
A pregnant woman, late in her term, had suffered an emotional breakdown during landing.

She fell, began bleeding heavily, and was rushed to the nearest hospital.

The complication? She had Rh–negative blood. Her life was hanging by a thread. And this hospital was the only one in Occaton with a supply.
A travel blogger on the same flight had captured the entire thing on video. It went viral in minutes.
Aerolux Airways had responded quickly, posting an official statement on their website.
They were dispatching blood via drone from this hospital and had granted the media full access to follow the emergency rescue operation.
Anneliese made it to the rooftop but was stopped at the door. The press was being held back as well, though their cameras were already rolling.
She stood on tiptoe, trying to see what was going on in the center of the rooftop.
“Mr. Fullbuster, the blood is secured and ready to go. We’re clear for launch at any time.
“The ambulance is twenty minutes out from St. Aurora Medical Center. They’ve prepped the OR. We can start the transfusion as soon as she arrives–but the bleeding’s out of control. If the plasma doesn’t get there within thirty minutes, she won’t make it p>
Zion, phone in hand, reported directly to Jonathan.
Jonathan’s eyes were fixed on the nearby laptop screen. At the update, he looked up toward the drone not far away.
