The girl in the baseball cap, who was walking at the back, made a surprised remark as she looked at Anneliese.

Alexander was nearly seventy, with half of his hair white. He was of medium height, but his back was straight. He wore black-rimmed glasses, and the deep lines on his face made him look strict when he wasn’t smiling.
Being stared at by him, Anneliese felt like a kid who had gotten in trouble and was sent to stand before the principal.
