He gripped the edges of the podium and looked out at the crowd.

She clicked the laser pointer off and looked directly at the older researcher. Her eyes were two pieces of freezing ice.
“They are entirely in my head,” June said.
The room was dead silent. The sheer, overwhelming weight of those words crushed every last doubt out of the air.
