Chapter 807:

Four massive men in black Compton Group security uniforms stood on the marble steps outside the building. They were holding giant black industrial trash bags, turning them upside down and shaking the contents directly into a filthy, wet dumpster sitting at the curb.

Alycia recognized the items tumbling into the garbage. Her limited-edition Dior gowns. Her velvet Cartier jewelry boxes. And her absolute pride and joy — the Himalayan crocodile Birkin bag.

Every physical proof of her elite status was being tossed into the dirty street water like cheap garbage.

“Stop! You bottom-feeding idiots, stop it!” Alycia shrieked like a banshee. She sprinted up the marble steps and threw herself toward the industrial dumpster.

She didn’t care about the greasy, foul-smelling water pooling at the bottom of the metal bin. She plunged her arms deep into the trash, fingers desperately clawing for the handles of the Himalayan Birkin bag. The dirty water soaked through the sleeves of her Chanel jacket.

One of the massive security guards stepped forward, his face a mask of stone. He grabbed Alycia by the back of her collar and hoisted her into the air like a misbehaving dog, then yanked her backward and threw her roughly onto the concrete sidewalk.

Alycia hit the ground hard. Her knees slammed into the pavement, tearing her sheer stockings and scraping the skin raw. Blood beaded on her kneecaps. Pedestrians on Fifth Avenue stopped walking. Dozens of people pulled out their smartphones and hit record on the spectacle of a high-society meltdown.

“Do you know who I am?!” Alycia screamed from the puddle, pointing a shaking finger at the guards. “I am the future Mrs. Compton! Cole will have you all fired and living on the street p>

“I believe you have a fatal misunderstanding of your current identity, Ms. Beasley p>

The voice was sharp and laced with heavy sarcasm. Cole’s chief assistant walked out through the gold revolving doors, wearing a pristine gray suit and carrying a stiff cardboard folder.

Alycia scrambled to her feet and lunged toward him, grabbing the fabric of his suit pants with her dirty hands.

“Take me to Cole!” she sobbed, mascara running down her face in black streaks. “This is a mistake! June set me up! You have to let me talk to him p>

The assistant looked down at her hands with extreme physical revulsion. He took a large step backward, ripping his pants from her grip as though she carried a deadly virus.

He opened the cardboard folder and pulled out a thick stack of legal documents stamped with a red court seal. He threw the papers directly at Alycia’s face.

The sharp edge of the stack sliced across her cheekbone. A thin line of blood appeared on her skin. The documents scattered into the dirty puddle at her feet.

“That is an immediate eviction notice,” the assistant said, looking down his nose at her. “The deed to the penthouse was never in your name p>

Alycia froze, staring at the papers floating in the water. “That’s impossible. Cole said he bought it for me p>

The assistant let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Mr. Compton did purchase the property. But ten minutes ago, he signed the deed over to its rightful owner p>
