“You’d better not. Do what I tell you, and don’t try any tricks with me.” Ellis shoved her onto the bed and loomed over her. “Don’t forget you begged me to get you back and help you p>
“I know, Ellis. I’ll obey you. I’ll kill Rupert and Annabel,” Candace said, clearly terrified of him.
Ellis nodded, looking calmer now. “Make sure you do. For your own sake p>
Marcel had been busy filming music videos these days and often got off work very late. Anika lay on the bed, scrolling through her phone without any real interest.
She couldn’t help wondering why Marcel still wasn’t home.
As Anika tossed and turned in bed, the door finally opened and Marcel walked in.
“What are you still doing up?” he asked.
“Why are you so late?” Anika sat up instead, her voice edged with concern.
Marcel sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her into his arms. “I’ve been swamped with filming the MV lately. If I want to finish on time, I have to work overtime p>
“With Elva again?” There was a trace of jealousy in her tone—one she didn’t even realize was there.
“Yes, with Elva.” He nodded, secretly pleased. If she was jealous, it meant she cared.

Anika let out a quiet sigh and decided to trust him. Then she turned and nestled into his arms.
“Just make sure you call me from now on and tell me everything,” Anika murmured. Without this, she would never have realized how much she cared about him.
That night, they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
Marcel rushed to the company early the next morning.
It was another day of MV filming, and the schedule was extremely tight, which was why he arrived at the studio so early.
