His tone stayed light, yet it brought back the image of his smiling face and those sinister eyes.
Annabel’s frown deepened as she considered ending the call then and there. But Omar seemed to anticipate it and spoke up first.

The mention of that made Annabel pause for a beat. “You’re certainly well-informed, Mr. Jenkins p>
As soon as Omar brought it up, his motive became obvious. With his previous connection to Hudok Entertainment, his intentions couldn’t have been clearer.
“Sherman is a renowned director. If your artist secures a collaboration with him, she’s bound to become famous,” Omar said smoothly. “Allow me to congratulate you in advance, Miss Hewitt p>
As he spoke, a distinct sound came through the line from his end.

Only now did Annabel connect the dots. Omar must have had a hand in what happened to Margo at the press conference.
She had almost forgotten about him. After their clash over the land acquisition, he hadn’t done anything else to affect her company. It hadn’t occurred to her that he was simply waiting for the right moment.

“Yes, life should indeed be full of surprises,” Annabel said with a smile. It seemed the days ahead would be far more interesting. Still, she knew she had underestimated Omar.
If he had been involved in Margo’s incident at the press conference, then she had overlooked something important. Or perhaps Omar was far more enigmatic than she had realized.
