Chapter 470
Chapter 470
3rd Person’s POV
“Ezra, you’re hurt p>
Panic tightened around Lylah’s chest as her gaze swept over the fresh scratches marring his skin.
Thin rivulets of blood glistened beneath the moonlight, standing out against the powerful planes of his chest and shoulders. She reached for him instinctively.
But before her fingers could brush the wounds, Ezra caught her hand. He lifted her hand to his lips. A soft kiss brushed across her knuckles.
“I’m not hurt, my love. Don’t worry about me p>
Lylah stared at him. “Not hurt?” she repeated incredulously. “You threw yourself to protect me. You could have been killed p>
A low rumble rolled through his chest.
His wolf scoffed at the very idea.
“I couldn’t have been. Those mutts are nothing. And this is just a mere scratch p>
To him, perhaps they were.
To her, they were not.
Every mark on his skin felt like a wound carved into her own heart.
“Ezra.” Zyrelle stepped forward, accompanied by several Moonclaw warriors. Their expressions were grim
as they stood guard over the restrained villagers. “We’ve secured them. What are your orders p>
The tenderness vanished from Ezra’s face.
His eyes drifted toward the trembling villagers.
The fury she had glimpsed earlier had never truly disappeared.
It had merely been waiting.
“Cut off their limbs. Bury them alive p>
Lylah gasped.
Even Zyrelle’s eyes widened.
The Alpha’s expression remained cold. “If that’s too time-consuming, chain them here and burn this whole p>
Lylah cupped his face and forced him to look at her.

His eyes flashed.
For one heartbeat, she saw the truth beneath his anger.
Fear.
Not for himself.
For her.
The terror of almost losing her.
She shook her head. “No p>
“Yes.” The word emerged as half-growl, half-command. “I won’t allow them to live after what they did to you p>
“Ezra p>
“They chased you p>
“They were manipulated p>
“They wanted you dead p>
The air crackled between them.
His wolf pushed against the surface.
Lylah refused to look away. “Someone filled their heads with lies. I don’t want this. I don’t want Lunera remembering you as a monster p>
The anger in his eyes faltered.
Her thumbs brushed gently across his cheeks.
“Please, Ezra p>
Slowly, the murderous haze clouding his eyes began to recede.
Ezra released a slow breath.
Then he turned away from the villagers and looked at his warriors. “Secure them. They will be questioned later p>
“Yes, Alpha p>
Only after they were gone did Lylah look back at him.
“Come on.” Her voice softened. “You need treatment p>
Without protest, he allowed her to take his hand.
Back at the volunteer cabins, an uneasy tension had settled over the camp.

Chapter 470
The moon hung high overhead, and five hours had passed since the gathering-yet no one had seen Lylah Clusters of volunteers lingered outside their cabins, whispering among themselves.
“Wasn’t she with Sir Knight earlier? That’s what I heard p>
“Sir Knight is speaking with Professor Hilal now p>
“Then where’s Lylah p>
Among them all; however, no one was more restless than Seraphina.
Quietly, she slipped away from the cabins and disappeared into the darkness. She followed the path toward the hidden clearing where Cora had promised to wait.
The place where they were supposed to discuss what happened next.
“Cora p>
No answer came.
Moonlight spilled across the forest floor, Seraphina spotted a white cloak lying abandoned on the ground. She picked it up.
It was Cora’s.
Seraphina’s stomach tightened as she looked around.
There was no sign of her.
