“Where’s Tiara?” Lylah paused outside the cabin, her brows drawing together as she glanced around the resort grounds. The door to Tiara’s room remained closed and locked. No response to her messages either.
Beside her, Ezra appeared far less concerned.
“My love, she’s most likely with Damon.” His hand settled comfortably at the small of her back as they walked. “Let them be. Instead, we should focus on deciding what we’re doing tonight p>
In truth, this was one of the reasons he had allowed Damon to join the trip in the first place.
Damon had spent every homent on their way here glued to Tiara’s side. As far as Ezra was concerned, that counted as progress.
“But they still don’t get along properly,” Lylah argued.
The pair had improved, certainly, but most conversations still seemed to end with Tiara rolling her eyes and Damon becoming frustrated.
Before Ezra could answer, movement in the distance caught her attention.
A crowd was gathering near the waterfall. More and more were heading in the same direction, curiosity evident in their
expressions.
Lylah frowned. “Something happened.” Her eyes narrowed. “And why is everyone recording it p>
Without another word, she grabbed Ezra’s hand and began pulling him toward the commotion.
The moment they reached the center, Lylah froze.
“Oh.” A male lay sprawled near the edge of the pool.
Blood covered his face. One side of his nose had clearly been broken, and crimson ran from a split temple down his cheek.
Nearby, Damon stood rigid with fury, and gold glimmered faintly in his eyes. His wolf sat dangerously close to the surface. One wrong word, wrong movement, and he might shift completely.
Only Tiara’s grip on his arm seemed to be keeping him grounded.
“She’s completely fine!” a female shrieked as she knelt beside the injured male. Fury glistened in her eyes as she inspected his injuries. She rounded on Damon. “What is wrong with you? What did she get? A tiny cut? And this was your response p>
Damon’s expression remained cold.
“That’s what he deserved for the scratch he gave my mate p>
A chill swept through the nearby wolves.
Lylah released a long breath.
“Ezra, Damon beat someone up”

Lylah gently took Tiara’s arm and examined the injury herself. The line was shallow-little more than a thin scratch. It was far less serious than she’d thought, especially considering the fury that had driven Damon.
A low curse suddenly interrupted her thoughts.
The injured male pushed himself upright.
Blood stained his jaw as he glared directly at Damon. “If you want to settle this like a male, then let’s settle it properly p>
The atmosphere immediately shifted.
The male took another step forward.

Murmurs rippled through the crowd. Some of them immediately began backing away to create space.
The challenge had been issued publicly.
Refusing it would be embarrassing.
Accepting it could become dangerous.
The male’s lip curled. “Only one of us should still be standing by dawn p>
Damon looked delighted.
The fury in his eyes transformed into something far more dangerous. “Sure p>
Before the situation could deteriorate further, a calm voice cut through the tension.
“Damon.” The single word carried authority.
Instantly, the crowd parted.
Ezra stepped forward. Moonlight filtered through the mist behind him, and although he wasn’t actively releasing his dominance, the sheer weight of his presence settled across the area like an invisible tide.
Damon immediately straightened.

More wolves began staring openly now.

The couple exchanged horrified looks before turning toward Damon.

The crowd collectively held its breath.
Tiara pointed toward Lylah.

The silence that followed was almost painful.
Several wolves looked as though they wanted the ground to open beneath them.
Because suddenly, this wasn’t a simple vacation argument anymore.
