Chapter 474
Chapter 474
3rd Person’s POV
Lylah frowned slightly.
“That evening, Jude did defend me…” she said. “He explained everything in front of the volunteers and the council. I thought that was enough to calm the situation in Lunera p>
The realization slowly dawned on her. “But… are you saying that’s not what stopped the rumors p>
Tiara stared at her.
Then she blinked.
“Lylah, if you knew what happened across Verdanth during the last two days, you’d be shocked.” A disbelieving laugh escaped her.
“Honestly, Damon and I barely slept. We were too busy worrying about what Alpha Ezra might do p>
Lylah’s brows lifted. “Explain p>
“Where do I even start?” Tiara folded her arms. “The moment those articles began spreading, Alpha Ezra gathered every Lunaris official with enough authority to matter. From what I heard, the atmosphere in that meeting was terrifying. He warned them personally that if anyone were involved in spreading those lies, they would not be spared p>
Lylah blinked.
Tiara continued, “The officials swore they had nothing to do with it. Apparently, some of them were so intimidated that they could barely speak. One of Damon’s contacts said the room smelled like pure fear p>
“Then things escalated,” Tiara said.
Lylah immediately became wary of those words.
“Your grandfather, lord Vargan, stepped in p>
The name alone carried weight.
“After the rumors spread beyond Lunaris, he summoned the Alphas of Verdanth and demanded answers. And trust me, he was every bit as furious as Ezra.” Tiara shook her head.
“Actually, he might have been worse. A Whitepine warrior named Gerald came forward along with his daughter, Gwyn. They publicly confirmed the truth about your parents and everything Jax Stillward did years ago p>
Lylah nodded slowly.
“But even then,” Tiara continued, “the Whitepine leadership remained silent.” The amusement vanished from her face. “And that was apparently a very bad decision p>
Lylah already knew what was coming.

A resigned sigh escaped her. “What did Ezra do p>
Tiara’s expression became strangely sympathetic. “Alpha Ezra arrived at Whitepine in the middle of the night. He walked straight into their territory and demanded an official statement. Demanded is the polite version p>
Tiara’s lips twitched.
“According to the stories, nobody there was brave enough to tell him no. Alpha Andreas ended up organizing a public conference immediately. The announcement formally acknowledged Jax Stillwards sacrifices,” She continued. “Every pup he saved was named publicly. Including Jude Knight
Understanding slowly settled over Lylah.
Only then had the narrative begun to collapse.
Only then had people finally been forced to confront the truth.
“The article couldn’t survive after that,” Tiara said. “Not when the entire continent suddenly learned who Jude really was to you p>
For a moment, silence settled between them.
Then Tiara sighed.
“But honestly, the rumors weren’t what worried us most p>
Lylah looked up.
Tiara glanced toward the cabin. Toward the Alpha who was currently standing at the doorway, composed, and entirely in control.
The contrast was almost absurd.
“After all that, Alpha Ezra still wasn’t himself p>
A shadow crossed her expression. “No matter what anyone said, he couldn’t calm down. Damon and Zyrelle tried convincing him to wait until morning before coming to Lunera, but he listened to neither of them. He left in the middle of the night p>
Her eyes narrowed.
“Moonclaw was worried. Lunaris was worried. Half the continent was worried,” Tiara said. “Meanwhile, Ezra only had one thought in his head p>
Lylah already knew what that thought had been.
Find her.
The simple certainty of it tightened something inside her chest.
Lylah turned toward the cabin. Ezra was sitting exactly where she had left him.

No one looking at him now would ever guess that less than twenty-four hours earlier, he had nearly turned Verdanth upside down.
