Kain moved with terrifying, supernatural speed. His large hand clamped over my wrist, the electric shock of his touch sending a violent jolt up my arm. The atmospheric pressure in the car plummeted so drastically my ears popped, physically stealing the breath from my lungs before I could finish the ritual sentence.
His eyes were no longer calm—they were pitch black, burning with a terrifying, possessive fury. “Do not finish that sentence,” he commanded, his voice a lethal, guttural rumble.
“Watch me,” I choked out, fighting against his iron grip.
Kain leaned in, his broad shoulders eclipsing the passing streetlights. “If you walk out of this car, Adelina, Bryan will petition the Pack Elders to annul our bond and freeze your trust fund before midnight. Jase’s humiliated Inner Wolf will tear this city apart to hunt you down as his escaped property. And Kira? She won’t just ruin your dresses. She will use silver next time p>

The Phantom began to descend, the shadows deepening as we entered the cavernous, polished concrete of Blackstone Tower’s underground garage. Every pillar bore the crest of his Pack.
