Grant didn’t wait for a response. He turned and walked down the hall, leaving me trembling in the cold aftermath of his threat. Panic, sharp and icy, clawed at my throat. Our secret was exposed to a man who was clearly losing his mind over a ghost. I needed to find Kain.
I practically sprinted to the elevator, riding it down to the grand lobby of The Wolfe Hotel.
Kain was standing near the valet stand, his towering figure clad in a flawless dark suit. The moment I burst out of the elevator, his head snapped toward me. I rushed forward and grabbed his arm, my fingers digging into his solid muscle.
