Jase swallowed hard, his Alpha pride forcing him to resist his instincts. “Who the hell are you?” he roared, though his voice shook.

Without waiting for a response, Kain turned to me. He effortlessly swept me up into his arms, cradling me against his chest. As he carried me down the hallway, I looked over his broad shoulder. Standing at the far end of the corridor, illuminated by the flashing strobe lights, were Kira and Dixie. Their faces were twisted in absolute, paralyzing horror.
We stepped out of the suffocating club and into the freezing night air, moving toward the waiting vintage Aston Martin. I was safe from Jase, but as I pressed my face against Kain’s chest, my heart hammered with a new, profound terror. I was being carried away by a stranger who possessed the power of a god, and I had no idea who he truly was.
