Kira POV
My triumphant smile froze, the tablet slipping slightly in my manicured grip. The air in Jase’s office was choking, thick with the aggressive, metallic stench of his Alpha pheromones. But it wasn’t the anger that made my Inner Wolf bare her teeth in a sudden, vicious wave of insecurity. It was his eyes.
Jase was staring at Adelina—the pathetic, wolfless secretary—with a sick, feral obsession I had never seen directed at me.
Adelina didn’t cower. She yanked her arm out of his brutal grip and smoothed her sleeve with infuriating calm. Her eyes slid over me, filled with absolute, chilling disgust.
“Ask your Alpha, Kira,” she said, her voice deadpan.
She walked past me, treating me as though I were nothing but empty air. The heavy glass doors clicked shut behind her, leaving a suffocating silence in her wake.

His grip was tight enough to bruise. “Some nameless Rogue isn’t taking what’s mine,” he snarled, his pride bleeding into violent rage. “I’ll find him. I’ll bury him in cash until he walks away. And if he doesn’t, my Warriors will make him disappear. That Manor is yours, Kira p>
Later that afternoon, the cloying, sweet floral scent of the Parrish Estate drawing room did nothing to calm my nerves. I paced across the Persian rug, venting to my mother, Carolyn, and my brother, Brent.
“Just let me pay her a visit,” Brent growled, cracking his knuckles. His Warrior instincts were always blunt and bloody. “A little ‘accidental’ exposure to silver. She’ll be in too much agony to claim any property for months p>
“Too stupid, Brent,” my mother snapped from her velvet armchair, her eyes cold and calculating. “We use the Pack Elders. We file a petition claiming Adelina suffered a psychotic break after Jase’s Rejection. We say a Rogue manipulated her into a fraudulent Mating bond. Once the Elders annul the marriage, her trust fund freezes again p>
Brent smirked, nodding slowly. “Fine. I’ll put a Rogue Tracker on her right now. Let’s see what kind of pathetic stray she picked up p>
Hours later, I was in my bedroom, aggressively shoving clothes into an overnight bag. If Adelina thought she was taking Wolfe Manor, I was going to move in tonight and stake my claim. I would sleep in her old bed with Jase just to prove a point.
Suddenly, a sharp pressure pierced my skull.
Kira, Brent’s voice echoed through our Pack mind-link. He didn’t sound arrogant anymore. He sounded breathless. Terrified. Things are wrong.
I paused, my hands gripping the edge of my suitcase. What is it? Did you find the stray?
He’s not a stray, Brent replied, the mental connection trembling with his anxiety. My Tracker found her at The Plaza. The guy drives a vintage platinum Aston Martin DB5, registered to a Blackstone Empire shell company. The perimeter is locked down by elite Warriors. Their scent—Kira, the Tracker said the power radiating from that car is ancient. Lethal. This isn’t someone we can buy off or scare away. We might be in deep shit.
I severed the link, my heart pounding violently against my ribs. Blackstone. The name echoed in my head, heavy and dark.
My Inner Wolf whimpered, a primal instinct urging me to back down. But I shoved the fear deep into my chest and zipped my bag shut. I was going to be the Luna of the Silvermoon Pack. I would go to Wolfe Manor tonight, and I would make sure my scent was all over that house before Adelina could even set foot on the grounds.
