I leaned forward, resting both hands flat on his desk, my eyes locking onto his terrified gaze.

Vincent froze. The blood drained from his face so quickly he looked like a corpse.
The threat of his mate discovering his betrayal — and subsequently stripping him of the financial empire she provided — was the ultimate kill shot. I physically felt his Inner Wolf whimper and collapse under the crushing weight of his own cowardice. The sour stench of his anger dissolved instantly into the rancid sweat of pure terror.
He sank heavily into his leather chair, his hands trembling. He didn’t say another word. He didn’t have to. The war was over, and we both knew I had just made a mortal enemy for life.
