“Move, Jase,” I growled.
He hesitated, his eyes wide with shock at the raw, unyielding predator standing before him. I didn’t wait for him to decide. I bypassed him, grabbed a fistful of Kira’s perfectly styled hair, and yanked her out of her chair.
She shrieked — a pathetic, high-pitched sound that fueled the ice in my veins. I brought the crop down hard across her upper arm.
The heavy silver bit into her skin with a sickening hiss. The smell of burning flesh and cloying jasmine flooded the air as a dark, blistering welt instantly formed.
