Margo nodded solemnly. Annabel offered a few more words of advice, then allowed the agent to lead Margo away.
Just then, Annabel’s phone rang. It was Rupert.
“Hello, Rupert?” she answered.
“Sorry. I was in a meeting,” Rupert said.
Only then did Annabel remember his important meeting that day.
“What’s wrong?” Rupert asked gently.
“Where is Heather?” Annabel asked. “You had her escorted out at Bruce’s birthday banquet p>
“Heather?” Rupert paused. “I had her sent back to the Norman family villa that night p>
He hadn’t looked further into the Norman family’s affairs afterward. The only thing he knew came from his grandfather: the family was planning to relocate Heather after her humiliating behavior at the banquet.
No family would take its reputation lightly—certainly not a noble one like the Normans.

Rupert wasn’t sure what had sparked Annabel’s sudden realization, but he knew she had her reasons.
“Don’t you think what’s been happening to Margo feels a little too… coincidental?” Annabel said.
At first, she hadn’t linked the incidents to Heather. After all, Heather had no reason to target Margo, who had nothing to do with her.
But thinking back on everything, Annabel couldn’t shake her suspicions.
Earlier, she had been wondering whether Margo had any enemies. It seemed her only real adversary was Joziah. And Joziah had always been fixated on Margo. Yet when Annabel recalled the kidnapping incident, she couldn’t help feeling he didn’t have the ability to pull off something like this on his own.
