Phillip was initially on edge, worried that the dealership might hold him liable for the damages. As a lawyer, he was aware that escaping liability would be impossible if they pressed the issue.
Just when he thought he was cornered, an unexpected twist occurred. Ashton stepped up, confidently declaring that he was the one who told the intern to move the car. Phillip’s face broke into a sly smirk. “I was wondering if I’d end up sharing some of the blame. But you stepping up sure makes my life easier. This mess? It’s on you because of your careless orders. Now, you’ll be paying for the damages—and maybe I’ll even tack on a claim for emotional distress p>
Ashton squinted at him, a half-smile playing on his lips. “Oh, really? And you think that’s going to fly just because you say so p>
Phillip sneered in return, “Look at you, broke and still loafing around here, coaxing the saleslady to take the car out for a spin, resulting in the accident. Who do you think you’re fooling? You have no right to even test-drive this car. Trying to play someone you’re not, huh? This car is worth a fortune. You’d be paying it off for a lifetime p>
He then turned to Mia and queried, “Tell him the real cost of this car p>
Mia cleared her throat and disclosed, “This is our latest model, actually. It’s priced at 1.36 million on the road p>
Upon hearing this staggering figure, Phillip felt a wave of relief wash over him. Lucky for him, Ashton had rashly taken on the blame. Otherwise, facing the dealership’s claims for this particular car alone would have spelled major trouble for Phillip.
To ensure Ashton couldn’t escape, Phillip wasted no time in directing Mia, feigning anger. “Quick, get someone to stop him! He and that foolish intern are going to pay for it! Don’t just stand there gawking. If he gets away, you’ll have to pay for the store’s damages too p>
Mia, spurred by urgency, immediately grabbed her walkie-talkie to summon the security guards stationed outside. Just then, Ashton interjected sharply, “Hold on! Do you understand why that intern did as I said and moved the car? It’s because I own it. What’s the issue with me driving my own vehicle p>

The trio stood speechless, and Ashton couldn’t help but sneer at their astonishment, the tables now turned. He added icily, “Actually, you’ve trespassed into my car without my consent. That’s illegal use of my property! I would’ve overlooked this, assuming you were merely curious. However, you disregarded warnings and damaged my brand-new car. Now, you owe me for the losses p>
