As the evening deepened, traffic thinned out, presenting what seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Regardless of Ashton’s awareness, the assassin at the van’s wheel pressed harder on the accelerator, closing the gap between them.
The road eventually took them around a long, sweeping curve where the assassins could no longer hold back.
To one side of the curve was a cliff, soaring over thirty feet high beside the sea—a drop akin to falling from a five- or six-story building.
It was an opportune spot. Here, they could stage a deadly crash to finish Ashton once and for all.
At that critical moment, Ashton’s car caught the eye of the assassins. Noticing Ashton’s sudden burst of speed, they realized he was onto them.
They immediately floored the accelerator, tearing after him with reckless abandon.
Side by side, the two vehicles roared down the road, now pushed to their limits on a stretch known for its perilous curves. Any further acceleration from Ashton threatened a disastrous loss of control. His car, already at peak speed, teetered on the edge of stability—just a nudge away from spinning out and crashing down the cliffside.

Though it didn’t plummet off the cliff’s edge, the collision was fierce, leaving the vehicle battered and billowing thick white smoke from its hood.
Ashton observed the scene before him with a calm demeanor, not leaving his car until the assassins’ vehicle had completely stopped.
