Phillip felt a surge of anger at her words.
In the past, Miriam had treated him better than even Emalee had. Now, she was the one who seemed most enraged by his presence.
Before Phillip could muster a response, Matthew and Miriam lost their patience.
They joined forces, swiftly escorting him to the door with his gifts in tow, and slammed it shut behind him.
